The Ginch Book Tag

Hello and Merry Christmas,

So the Grinch book tag was created by Thoughts on Tomes

There is not much to say except you cannot pick villains. So lets get started ...

1. Half of the lights on the Christmas tree are burnt out : Name a book/series/character that started out good but then went downhill

Adam from Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, i was firmly TEAM ADAM in Shatter Me But as the series got on he, just annoyed the hell out of me and i couldn't even read his novella.

2. Annoying Great Aunt Sally who will not leave you alone : Name a book that you didn't enjoy, but everyone else seems to love so it never goes away

Eleanor & Park - Rainbow Rowell, i loved Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell so i gave this book a try it took me 22 days to finish this book because i couldn't connect with the characters and  i didn't like the way it was written.

3. Your pets keep knocking over the Christmas decoration : Name a character that kept messing things up for everyone else (can't pick a villain!)

Aspen from The Selection series, Really the only thing he messes up is Americas head about her feeling for him and also at the same time her feeling for Maxon as well.

4. You hear your parents putting out the presents and learn Santa isn't real: Name a book you were spoiled for

Last Sacrifice - Richelle Mead, I was spoiled when i saw who the murderer really was but it didn't ruin the book for me.

5. It's freezing outside: Name a main character you just couldn't connect with

Bella Swan - Twilight, Because i love the book but please i hate main female characters who depend on a man to save them, and she is a prime example like when she falls apart in New Moon its a disgrace to the female race.

6. Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas is You' and it's giving you anti-romantic feelings : Name a couple you couldn't stand

i Love Them separately and with the partners they are with now and because of this relationship Spirit bound is my least favourite book so The couple i couldn't stand is Rose & Adrian from The Vampire Academy Series.

7. That scratchy homemade wool sweater you got for Christmas years ago but won't get rid of : show some books that have been sitting on your shelves for a while, and you aren't motivated to read, but you don't have the heart to get rid of

The Chronicles Of Narnia

The Host

P.s I Love You

8. Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer: Name a character death you still are mad about (warn people for spoilers! You can also use TV or movie deaths)

Mine is from Greys Anatomy even almost 3 years later I'm still very sad about Mark & Lexie's death, i mean they just got back together and then they go and die, i mean COME ON

9. The malls are overly crowded with holiday shoppers: Name a series that has too many books in it/went on too long

Morganville Vampires - Rachel Cain, i mean its got 15 BOOKS that was a struggle to get through but i did it in the end.

10. The Grinch : Name a main character you HATE (No villains again!)

Zoey Redbird - The House of Night, OK so she did redeem her self in the last book but from the 4th to the 11th book i wanted to kill her she just got on my nerves so much but i was invested in the series and i need t finish it.

I love the black and white version of this, I'm not so keen on the coloured version probably because i believe that it was made Black and White so it should stay that way .

Top 5 Wednesday - Worst Titles - 24th December 2014

Hi,
So this months topics have been pretty dificult for me to choose the books for them and this was no differant, the some were straight on this list then there were some i debated on.

so lets get started. .. ..

5)

Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead

Now dont get me wrong i love this book and all the other titles are good but this book it makes it sound like just another Vampire novel and its so much more than that.

4)

The Kings Curse - Philippa Gregory

Now this is a really petty reason for not liking a title, and that it that it was changed and i like the other one better, This book was origianly called The Last Roseand that title went with the rest of the seires where as this title kind of sticks out.

3)

Twilight - Stephenie Meyer

i hate when book titles have nothing to do with the book and this is a prime example, yes its about Vampire and they only come out at night but these ones dont so it doesnt make any sense.

2)

Strange Angels - Lili St Crow

From the title you would think its a series about Angels but its not its about a girl who finds out she is half human half vampire, the other books in the series are fine they go with the series i have no clue what Strange Angels has to do with this book.

1)

Are these my Basoomas i see before me - Louise Rennison

really any title in this series makes me cringe to say aloud they are just really werid it makes me awkward when i have to talk about them so i dont and it kind of puts me off reading them in public.

Classic Christmas Cinema Tag

Hi,
so it is less than a week till Christmas so i figured i should start the Christmas tags i was meant to do last week but didn't get around to so lets get started ...

Questions:

1. Elf- choose a book that puts you in the Christmas mood

My True Love Gave to Me is the first real Christmas book i own and i got it this year so its gonna have to be.
My True Love Gave To Me - Stephanie Perkins

2. It's a Wonderful Life- choose a book with a character who goes through some serious character development

In the Indigo Spell, Sydney Sage goes through some major character development throughout some of Vampire Academy and The Bloodlines book previous to TIS you see her character change so much its astonishing.

3. Christmas Carol- choose a book/series with a character you didn't like at first, but grew to love

Warner from Shatter Me, i think anybody who read Shatter Me not knowing anything about the characters and how they develop has to hate Warner hes the evil baddie in the first book but in the next two and mainly the novella you see what his real character is and how caring and loving he really is.

4. Home Alone- choose a book where the parents aren't present and if they are, they aren't such a good influence

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares Lily's parents are on their honeymoon they never got to have the first time round and Dashes parents are both doing there own thing thinking he is with the other when really hes at home by himself.

5. Frosty the Snowman- Find a book with a snowy cover.

Christmas Cookie Club - Ann Pearlman

6. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer- Choose a protagonist you couldn't help but root for.

Percy Jackson, hes just so lovable from the first book when hes 12 until the last book we see him in when hes 16 he never changed from the adorable pre teen to grown up man.

7. Polar Express- Find a book where characters travel somewhere cold.

Blood Promise - Richelle Mead Rose Hathaway travels to Russia

8. How the Grinch Stole Christmas- Choose a villain you couldn't help but love.

I guess mine would be George Wickham from Pride & Prejudice because he is the epitome of evil in that era he keeps trying to marry 15 year old girls, hes a lying manipulative, gambler with a massive amount of debt (and i could think of any others that i liked)

9. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation- Choose a character with a goofy sense of humour.

Kenji - Shatter Me
My Favourite Quote from his is from Ignite me
"Hey- Jazz Hands!" Kenji barks. "get your ass back over here." He makes it a point to look as irritated as possible."Back to work. And this time, focus. You're not and ape. Don't just throw your shit everywhere"

 10. Lifetime/Hallmark movie- Choose a book with the cheesiest romance.

Anna and The French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins

This book is such a cheesy romantic book in the most romantic city in the world come on this book wins hands down.

Until next time lovelies

Peyton
