Twenty Questions Book Tag

Hello, so I've not done a tag in while and I stumbled across this one on Fuelledbyfiction's page and decided to give it a go, so let's get started.

How many books is too many books in a series?

I think it depends on the series, if it's a historical series I think 6-10 is a good point but for romance, or new adult I think the longer the better.

How do you feel about cliffhangers?

Not a fan, it can make me hate a book if it's not done right, some are ok, like Rick Riordan but others need to just stop.

Hardback or paperback?

I like hardback's on my shelf but I prefer paperbacks they are easier to travel with and since I'm constantly on the underground they aren't to big either.

Favourite book?

I don't currently have one, but recently I re-read Vampire Academy and I think that is a book I can go back to again and again and not stop loving.

Least favourite book?

Again I don't really have one, and if I do I never finished it and got rid of it, but I think it was one of Sarah J Maas' books from the Court of Thornes and Roses series.

Love triangles, yes or no?

It depends because sometimes I absolutely cannot stand them, but if done correctly then yes, but if not then no.

The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Charming Hannah - Kristen Proby I have tried twice now and I might finish it at some point but for me it's just a lot of the same tropes from that genre.

A book you’re currently reading?

Right now, none, but I just finished Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare about 2 hours ago, the next book I'm going to read is TBD.

Last book you recommended to someone?

I can't remember it's been so long since I was reading consistently enough to get into a conversation like that.

Oldest book you’ve read?

Richard III - William Shakespeare, it was alright Shakespeare is definitely something that takes some major brain work.

  The newest book you’ve read?

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare, it was released today ** (The day I'm writing this the 3rd March 2020)

Favourite author?

LALALALA Can't hear you.
🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉

Buying books or borrowing books?

Buying, even though I have got rid of a lot of books there is nothing quite like that new book smell or the smell of old book pages.

A book you dislike that everyone seems to like?

Again A Court of Thornes and Roses.

Bookmarks or dogear?

Bookmarks when I can, but I have been known to dogear a page if it's an old charity shop book that is already worse for wear.

A book you can always re-read?

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, or the Gallagher Girl series by Ally Carter

Can you read whilst hearing music?

Yes, I normally have Country Hit's Radio UK, on my smart speaker on low but after a while I tend to tune it out if I'm really getting into a book.

One POV or multiple POV’s?

Depends on the book, sometimes you really need the different POV's to keep the story rolling but other times one is enough.

Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

Again it depends on the book, I read a 600 page book in one day today, (Chain of Gold) but then a book like one of the Outlander series it takes me multiple to finish them.

One book you read because of the cover?

Geek Girl by Holly Smale, and it was really good.

So that's all from me, my new posting schedule is Tuesay's,  Thursday's and Sunday's.

So my next post will be Sunday, see you then.

I'm Sorry!!!!

😭😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Explanation

I haven't posted on any of my blogs since September, i really have no excuses for that, apart from the fact that i haven't been reading to much in the past couple of months because i was participating in Nanowrimo and i spent most of October planning and i spent all of November writing.

If you follow me on Instagram you will know that i completed Nanowrimo with over 60,000 words and i am very happy about that and now that is out of the way i have decided to completely re-vamp my blogs and start posting again on a regular schedule in January 2017.
I will be posting the schedule once i have figured it out, in the coming days.

Until Next Time

9 Books About British Royalty

Hello, so in honer of Queen Elizabeth II turning 90 Years Old Today (21st April 2016) i decided to do a list of some of my favourite books about the British Royal Family both Fiction and Non Fiction....

1 - Stormbird - Conn Iggulden - Fiction

This is the first book in a series called The Wars of The Roses series and it tells the tale of the Civil War that Plagued England in the 13th Century. This is a fiction book and it is such a good one each book is better than the last in this series and i am really sad to see it ending in May 2016.

2. Philip and Elizabeth - The Portrait of A Marriage - Gyles Brandreth - Non Fiction

I haven't read this book in full it is one of those books i love to flip through and reads bits and pieces of. This tells the tale of a marriage that has lasted 60 + years and i personally love it.

3. The Confession of Catherine Howard - Suzannah Dunn - Fiction

This is probably the first ever Adult Historical Fiction book i read and even around 6 years on i still love it and still remember a lot of what happened in that book.

4. The Lady Elizabeth - Alison Weir - Fiction

This was the first Elizabeth book i read from when Elizabeth was young, in the past i had read books from her reign but never from her childhood and this was so insightful. And told of possible scenarios of why she ended up the way she did.

5. Charles & Camilla: Portrait of A Love Affair - Gyles Brandreth - Non Fiction

Much like Philip and Elizabeth by the same Author, i just love flicking through this and reading passages and bits of modern history and how it came to be since when all of this was playing out i was only about 2 years old so i didn't really know much about it until i started looking it up.

6. The Virgin Widow - Anne O'Brien - Fiction

This book is about a Queen who we know very little of in this time the 1480 there are two Queens who have fallen into obscurity and this is about Richard III's Wife Anne Neville who some would say was behind the plot to put her husband on the throne and take the crown from his nephew.

7. Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen - Samantha Wilcoxson - Fiction

And here is other other obscure Queen of the 1480's and she is Elizabeth of York and this is the best book i have found for her be it fiction or non fiction, it is one of the best.

8. The Plantagenet's - Dan Jones - Non Fiction

Again i haven't read the whole thing but i have read passages and i really don't know much about this era, i am more Tudors than anything and this is before the Tudors and it really is fascinating when people say the Tudors were violent they really have nothing on The Plantagenet's.

9. The Other Queen - Philippa Gregory - Fiction

I had to include this book since it is about British royalty and i have only included English so far, but this book is about Mary Queen of Scots and it is one of the best in the series and i enjoyed it and again i really don't know much about Scottish Royalty only that pretty much all of then were called Mary or James, so it is fun for me when i read books so i can learn more (but don't do that with Gregory's books because they are more fiction than fact.)

Children's Book Recommendation's

When i was a child, i loved to read and here are some of my most favourite books and authors i read when i was young and also children's books i have loved since i started reading as a teenager. so lets start with all those two since they are very well known .......

Harry Potter & the Philosophers Stone - J K Rowling

I didn't read this till i was about 15 or 16 and i loved them and i wish i did read them as a child they would have been more magical to a younger readers mind.

Percy Jackson & The Lighting Thief - Rick Riordan

Again i didn't read this book until i was 18 years old and it was amazing and such a fun book to read and i can understand why so many children love this series as well as adults.

now onto the Books & authors i loved as a child

Roald Dahl

The BFG

I read this is school and it has still stuck with me well over 10years later, it is such a good story with a lovely message behind it.

The Twits

I still laugh when i think of this book, it is just a good funny book about two old married people who hate each other (there is so much more than that but its such a short book i don't want to give much away)

Dav Pilkey

The Captain Underpants series

I loved this series it was so funny and i had most of the books i just have no clue where they are now and i really need to either find them or buy them again they were such funny lighthearted reads and that is why they will always be some of favourites.

Now my all time favourite Author when i was a child was ......

Jacqueline Wilson

I used to own most of what was published at the time now i own 20 of her books but i am going to list my personal favourites (there are going to be a few)

- The Sleepover Club
