Eleanor of Aquitaine, a woman who in her own right holds all of the Aqutainian lands needs a husband. She becomes betrothed to Prince Louis the second son of The Fat King Louis he was never meant to be King he was set for the church, so when Eleanor believed she would get a warrior, a man who would defend her and her lands but instead she got a monk who would rather spend his nights on his knees praying in Norte Dame than share her bed. She ends up taking matters into her own had and sets her life on a path were when English people look back on her and call her one of the She-Wolves of our history.

The Devils Consort was enjoyable I'm not going to say it was amazing, because it wasn't. There were a lot of parts in this book that were so slow and boring i seriously contemplated not finishing. I pushed through and i will admit it gets a lot better as it goes on, i do recommend this book, but only if you feel like you can push through some pretty slow chapters to begin with. If you are feeling you need some 12th century drama in your life you are going to love this book, i will only suggest you give it a try before you buy get a sample off of Amazon kindle or read the first couple of chapters at the book store.

Marked Men - Jay Crownover Series Review

Picture From Books To Breathe
Hello All, so this is a SPOILER FREE review of The Marked Men series by Jay Crownover I actually read this series a couple of months ago but am only posting it now because the spin off series comes out next month, so i thought i would put the entire series review out there in celebration for the first book in The Saints of Denver Series.

Rule
Rule & Shaw

What an introduction to this series, Rule is broken from his twin brothers death, and his mother blames him for it. Shaw is the good girl who was his brothers girlfriend, but there was a story behind that, what was it?
Shaw has been in love with Rule since the first time she laid her eyes on him at 13, she kept her best friends secret from his family for a long time, will she finally get the man because when the secret comes out he may never trust her again.

Jet

Jet & Ayden

Jet is your typical rock star, but then again is he?. He believes Ayden is your typical good girl - but she has a past, one that she will not tell anyone about because she is ashamed of it but when they start a casual relationship, as passionate as theirs will it survive or will it crash and burn?

Rome

Rome & Cora

Rome has just been discharged from the army, but when he gets back and says something stupid in front of a fiery feisty woman he ends up with beer poured over his head. When he apologises, a relationship ensues and when a curve ball is thrown their way will they survive or will they crumble under the pressure.

Nash

 Nash & Saint

Nash is a playboy, he sleeps with anything that moves. When a member of his close family is in the hospital he meets a nurse called Saint, who he remembers from school.
Saint was bullied and ignored in High School and her crush Nash said some horrible things about her, will he get her to forgive him, and can a relationship blossom when she still has so many issues from the past.

Rowdy

Rowdy & Salem

Rowdy is heartbroken, he has been since he was 18 when the very same girls older sister starts working at the new shop, he is shoved back into the past. Just when he starts to realise maybe it wasn't love after all, but then his ex shows up how can Rowdy & Salem ever carry on any semblance of a relationship when she is under the same roof.

Asa

 Asa & Royal

A criminal and a cop how will that ever work, royal has decided she doesn't care, all she wants is to sleep with this beautiful man with a sexy southern drawl. But feeling catch and families get involved how did anyone think they were going to last.

Over all its a 5 star series some books were better then others but it was just a very consistent series, and i cannot wait to read The spin off The Saints of Denver series

What's On My Shelf Tag

What's On My Bookshelf is a tag, I'm not sure where it originated if you know let me know in the comments.

To do this tag all you have to do is take co-ordinates and apply them to your shelves so i have 4 cases, three have 7 shelves and one has 3 plus the top, then there is about 20 on each shelf so i just randomised the numbers and came up with 8 co-ordinates.

Lets get started .....

3,1,5
Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins

I first read this book back in December of 2012, and i only just re-read it last month (November 2015), it is my favourite in The Hunger Games Series and has so many quotable moments that i still remembered even after not reading it for 3 years.

2,6,3
A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray

I Haven't read this book yet i mean iv not had it long only about 2 and a half years but who's counting. I brought this book because i had just read The Diviners & loved it so i brought this with the intention of reading it straight away but i just never got around to it. I will read it in 2016.

2,7,6
Lost Spirits - Gabriella Poole

The last book in the Darke Academy Series, i really didn't like this book compared to the others in the series if it wasn't the last i probably would have continued, i actually don't remember much from it i just pushed through it without taking much in.

4,4,4
Allegiant - Veronica Roth

What to say about this book, well the ending is still the most emotional i have read, and it kills me when i think about it. I cried a lot and don't think i will ever re-read this book in a million years.

1,5,10
Amy & Rodgers Epic Detour - Morgan Matson

This was the first book i read in 2014 & to this day it is one of my favourite contemporaries. It kicked of an amazing reading year for me, so i will be very grateful for that.

3,6,9
Raging Star - Moira Young

An amazing ending to a dystopian trilogy that is very unique, story but then again its not its the way that's its told and the fact that there is no punctuation and the words are spelt like they are said in an accent. I highly recommend this trilogy and it should be a lot more popular than it is.

4,1,1
Saga Volume 1 - Brian K Vaughn

I only read this a couple of months ago and it was brilliant, then i went on a book buying ban only pre orders that were already pre ordered i could buy so i cant wait till January so i can catch up with the entire series.

1,4,10
City of Bones - Cassandra Clare

This was one of the first books i read in 2010 that wasn't about Vampires i brought the first tree books on a whim, i tried to read City of Bones and i couldn't get into it so i stopped about 30 pages in. Then in when Clockwork Angel came out i read that and i loved it so much that i decided to give City of Bones another go and when i did, i found it to be 10 times better than what i was thinking when i put it down and it then started me reading the next 3 books in quick concession.

The Best Goodbye - Abbi Glines

Title - The Best Goodbye
Series - Rosemary Beach #12
Author - Abbi Glines
ISBN - 978-1-4711-4469-1
My Copy - Purchased
Where You Can Find It - Goodreads - Waterstones - Barnes & Noble - Book Depository - Amazon UK - Amazon US

The Best Goodbye follow two characters we haven't really met before Captain who we know a little about then Rose who we have never met before.
Rose is a single mother who reminds Captain of his only ever love Addy, the girl who is the reason he got tangled with DeCarlo and but Addy is dead and Rose will never replace her.
As Rose and Captain get closer secrets from both of there pasts come to light will they ever find the happiness that they deserve or will it all go down in flames.

The Best Goodbye wasn't my favourite in the series but like all the other books it was extremely enjoyable, I'm also pretty sure it's the shortest as well.
Captain was a good male character, the struggles he has gone through in his life, and the relationship he has built with Blaire it just had me smiling, my only problem with Captain's character was that we didn't get a father/son moment between Captain and his dad I kept expecting it to happen and it didn't, and the casual sex with Elle was just strange, I changed my mind I was going to say we have never seen that before but then I remembered Rush and the girl on the porch.
Rose on the other hand is practically his opposite she is a single mother who is looking for the boy she loved when she was 16 but she doubts she will ever find him, it was fun to read a character with a child that was a bit older rather than a toddler.

Overall I wish it was a bit longer and there was more Captain side of the family bonding but I did still like it very much now with Rosemary Beach series ending next June Abbi Glines just released the cover for the final book and from the small amount of information we get in The Best Goodbye we know it's going to be drama filled so I will not be reviewing a Abbi Glines book till next year first with Deans Novella then Up in Flames Nans Story.

Unpopular Opinions Tag

Hello all, so i was looking up tags on blogs and found this one i cant find who i saw this on but you can just google Unpopular opinions tag and a load will come up. So this is a tag where you take your unpopular opinions and throw them out there for the world to see.

1. A Popular Book or series that you didn't like.

Caster Chronicles - Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

I have only read the first book in this series and i can not go on it was just not my thing at all and it put me off witch book for a very long time and I'm still not keen on them.

2. A Popular Book or series that every one else seems to hate but you love.

Stray - Rachel Vincent

I'm pretty sure i have mentioned this before but when i was first going to read this book back in July 2014 i looked it up on goodreads and the first like 20 review were all 1 or 2 stars and i put it down and decided i wasn't going to read it but then i finished my TBR and decided i should think for myself and read it no matter the reviews and i so glad i did it is one of my favourite fantasy series ever.

3. A Love Triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with (warn ppl for spoilers) OR an OTP that you don't like.

Jem & Tessa - The infernal devices - Cassandra Clare

I always shipped Wessa, i don't know why i just really didn't like Tessa & Jem together i loved them separate but when a relationship started i was like NOOOOOOOOOOO.

 4. A popular book Genre that you hardly reach for.

Dystopian

I went through a phase of loving Dystopian but after reading so many of them they all started to have pretty much the same story line, so now it is very rare for me to pick up a dystopian not counting the selection series its been about a year since i last brought a dystopian and I'm pretty sure that was In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken.

5. A popular or beloved character that you do not like.

Alaska - Looking for Alaska - John Green

I really didn't like Alaska she just grated on my nerves i don't know why i didn't like her from the beginning. and i was glad when i didn't have to read about her anymore.

6. A popular author that you can't seem to get into.

Laini Taylor

I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and i somewhat enjoyed it, so i brought the next book and have tried to start it countless times and now i just cant be bothered with it anymore.

7. A popular book trope that you're tired of seeing. (examples "lost princess", corrupt ruler, love triangles, etc.)

Love Triangles

I have hated love triangles since i started reading YA and since i started with Twilight and the Bella/Edward/Jacob triangle then onto Vampire Academy and the Rose/Dimitri/Adrian triangle and there are just so many its nice when a book just has one couple that you know are going to end up together.

8. A popular series that you have no interest in reading.

Uglies - Scott Westerfeld

I will say i read Uglies i really had to push through it so i have no interest in carrying on reading this series it just was not my cup of tea at all.

9. The saying goes "The book is always better than the movie", but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?

Pretty Little Liars

I read the first 4 Pretty Little Liars books and i enjoyed them but the TV show is ten times better i think that is the only adaptation i have ever loved more than the book.

The Kings Sister - Anne O'Brien Review

Title - The Kings Sister
Author - Anne O'Brien
ISBN - 978-1-848-45366-1
My Copy - Purchased
Where You Can Find It - Waterstones -  Goodreads - Book Depository - Amazon UK - Amazon US

The King's Sister is set in England in the 14th Century we meet a 17 year old Elizabeth Plantagenet, who just found out she is to marry a 8 year old boy,Johnty,  who is like an annoying little brother than the man she wanted to marry. As the years go on she yearns for the touch of a man she finally gives in to that desire with John the King, her cousins, Half Brother, her marriage to Johnty must end  because she is pregnant and since Johnty is only 14 and the marriage hasn't been consummated its clear who the father is.

But things get complicated over 10 years later when Elizabeth's brother decides to usurp the current King, their cousin Richard II. When he succeeds and John chooses his brother Richard. Elizabeth must make a choice of her own Family or Love, to defy the King & betray her family or condemn her husband and send him to his death.

Now don't get me wrong, I loved this book but in the beginning Elizabeth was a whiny little brat, but then again if i was 17 and told i had to marry an 8 year old boy i would be pretty angry and whiny as well so i probably should judge but it was just annoying to read. John is definitely an Anti Hero but he was a hero he loved Elizabeth & his family after all it was the love he held for his brother that ultimately sealed his fate.
I read some review that said Elizabeth had too much sexuality for the time period and yes she was Wanton & all she thought about was a mans touch but then we will never know what woman were actually like behind closed doors back then they could have been wanton and sex crazed instead of the pious soft women they are usually portrayed as. My only problem with this characterisation is that she was sometimes portrayed as a woman who could not control her hormones when it came to a man who showed her any attention.

Elizabeth's choice whether to condemn her husband or brother didn't really matter to me because no one will ever agree on if she did the right thing personally this book was her struggle between her desire her love for her her husband and her love for her family and her struggle to choose.

Overall i loved this book, i was not planning on reading it but I'm so glad i did it was an amazing historical read and i cannot wait to read more novels from this Author.

All Wrapped Up - Holly Smale Review

Title - All Wrapped Up
Series - Geek Girl  #1.5
Author - Holly Smale
ISBN - 978-0-00-816344-0
My Copy - Purchased
Release Date - November 5th 2015
Where You Can Find It - Waterstones - Goodreads - Book Depository - Amazon UK - Amazon US
All Wrapped Up tells the story of Harriet & Nicks first date and like every other Geek Girl book this was funny, cute, adorable and it just made me feel all warm inside.
This is Harriet's first ever date and she is freaking out to the point where she has to google what to do and it just ends up in a perfect mess. Especially when Harriet's Friend/Stalker Toby shows up, and decides to quiz Nick on his compatibility to her she is mortified. But add some Ice Skating with a cute Australian who it turns out is better at surfing on water than skating on it you get a romantic short story set in the heart of London.

I love every Geek Girl book ever published and this Christmas Special is no different it was very short but very sweet. I cant say too much without spoilers because it is such a small book But what i will say this book made me want to curl up with some Christmas cookies and wear a Christmas jumper and go ice skating myself, so in this Christmas season i highly suggest you read this book even if its just to try out the geek girl series because you will not be disappointed.
