Book Survey - Greek Mythology Style

Hello everybody.

A couple of weeks ago i saw this while looking for book tags to do and it seemed like fun i saw it on DreamLandBookBlog  and thought i would give it a go.

This survey was created by Flip That Page, and the main idea of the whole thing is that you have to answer a number of questions, one for each god/character from Rick Riordan’s Heroes of Olympus and Percy Jackson and the Olympians-series.

Gods of Olympus

Zeus (Jupiter)
God of the Sky and Thunder / King of the Gods

Favourite book (choose your own category!)

Breathe - Abbi Glines

This book started my addiction with Abbi Glines and even though it was cheesy in parts it still brings a smile to my face when i think about it.

Poseidon (Neptune)
God of the Seas and Earthquakes

Book that drowned you in feels

Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover

God even a couple of months on the emotions and feels from this book still kill me every time i think of it. The pain was so real you could feel it.

Hades (Pluto)
God of the Underworld
Favourite book with a dark / ominous plot

The Never List - Koethi Zan

This book is messed up it is about a girl who was locked in the basement with 3 other girls and 10years after they escape they are confronted with each other and what they did to survive. Twist and Turns a plenty.

Hera (Juno)
Goddess of Marriage and Family

 Cutest fictional couple

Tessa and Jase

Tessa and Jase from Be With Me by J Lynn are one of the cutest couples right from the start just the awkwardness around them and their interactions have made them a favourite for me.

Athena(Minerva)
Goddess of Wisdom, Handicraft and Strategic Warfare

 Series with the best world-building

Throne of Glass - Sarah J Maas

This series is all about the world building i don't want to say too much but it is such an intricate world and all the different places and the different creatures it is phenomenal.

Aphrodite (Venus)
Goddess of Love and Beauty

Most beautiful cover on a 2014 release

To All The Boys I've Loved Before - Jenny Han

This cover is extremely gorgeous, a beautiful cover for a beautiful book.

Ares (Mars)
God of War and Bloodshed

Most violent book you’ve ever read

Stombird - Conn Iggulden

Stormbird is a very real take on medieval war craft and it is violent and bloody and just getting started.

Hephaestus (Vulcan)
God of Blacksmiths and Fire

 Scorching hot swoon worthy character

Cage York

So boys in books how can i choose just one, in the end i chose one that even to this day almost a year on he is still one of my favourite boys in books, Cage is the bad boy every good girl needs.

Artemis (Diana)
Goddess of the Hunt and Virginity

Favourite Kick-Ass Heroine
Rose Hathaway
Rose for me is the original kick ass heroine before her i had read about Bella and Zoey Redbird she is a kick ass heroine and she is one of my all time favourite female characters.

Phoebus Apollo (Apollo)
God of Light and Healing

Sequel book that redeemed its series
Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy - Ally Carter
The first book in the Gallagher Girls series was OK for a stand alone but for me it didn't bring anything into the series at all it had a completely different vibe to the rest of the series. And when i read the second book i became addicted to it.

Hermes (Mercury)
Messenger God of Thieves and Commerce

 Book with the best message

Love Rosie - Cecelia Ahern

The message in this book is that if love is meant to happen it will even if it takes years and many failed marriages if its meant to be it will be.
Hestia (Vesta)
Goddess of the Hearth and Home

Book with the most relatable story

Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell

Fangirl is such a relatable story its about a normal girl trying to find her way in the world and meeting new people and dealing with family problems it just describes almost every teenage girl in the world.

Demeter (Ceres)
Goddess of Fertility and Agriculture

  Favourite bookish setting

Tudor England

I absolutely love The Tudor Period and any book i have read that is set in that period. If i could live in any world it would have to be the Tudor era. Who wouldn't want to see Henry VIII as a young hansom prince.

Dionysus (Bacchus)
God of Wine and Celebration

2015 release you are most anticipating

The Sword of Summer - Rick Riordan

I literally need this book right now, it has been almost a year since we have heard about Annabeth and Percy and I'm hoping we get some glimpses of them and also i have never read a Norse Mythology book before so I cannot wait.

Heroes of Olympus

Percy Jackson

a brave, spirited natural leader with a sarcastic sense of humour, and a will to save friends and enemies alike

Favourite protagonist
Celaena Sardothian
Celaena is such an amazing protagonist she is strong and she has such an amazing personality and she is a kick ass heroine who protects the people she cares about.

Annabeth Chase
intellectual genius with a strong mind, brave heart, and a love for architecture

Series / book with the cleverest plot
Shadowhunters Series - Cassandra Clare
It is such a cleverly written series with how all of the series are interconnected and it all flows perfectly i cannot imagine what goes into writing a world like this where you have different characters in different generations but at the same time they are all very similar.

Jason Grace
has a moderate sense of humour, but a strong sense of Honor, justice and compassion, often described as perfect

Book with an epic finale

The Mark of Athena - Rick Riordan

The ending to this book had me having a heart attack seriously if i had read it then had to wait for the next book i would probably have killed someone, this ending was epic for all the right reasons even if it gave me heart attack.

Piper McLean
aggressive and persuasive but down to earth, caring and loving towards Jason, her friends and family

Book with a tempting synopsis (one you haven’t read!)

The Book of Ivy - Amy Engel

So i saw this book on goodreads and keep on debating if i should buy it i have not been able to forget the synopsis and i really want to read it.

After a brutal nuclear war, the United States was left decimated. A small group of survivors eventually banded together, but only after more conflict over which family would govern the new nation. The Westfalls lost. Fifty years later, peace and control are maintained by marrying the daughters of the losing side to the sons of the winning group in a yearly ritual.
This year, it is my turn.
My name is Ivy Westfall, and my mission is simple: to kill the president’s son—my soon-to-be husband—and restore the Westfall family to power.
But Bishop Lattimer is either a very skilled actor or he’s not the cruel, heartless boy my family warned me to expect. He might even be the one person in this world who truly understands me. But there is no escape from my fate. I am the only one who can restore the Westfall legacy.
Because Bishop must die. And I must be the one to kill him…

Leo Valdez
good-natured and energetic, funny but intelligent, honest and witty, and is skilled with machines

Book that made you laugh

Geek Girl - Holly Smale

Geek Girl is a funny cute contemporary book that made me laugh out loud, and it still makes me laugh and smile whenever i think of certain scenes.

Hazel Levesque
bright  and outgoing despite an unfortunate childhood, is mature for her age and has a love for horseback riding

Favourite character with a tragic past

Avery Morganstern

Avery goes through something traumatic at 14, when she does the right thing and tells the police her family make her lie and say she made it up.

Frank Zhang
somewhat shy, cynical, and clumsy, though he possesses a strong sense of duty, loyalty, and love

Book you loved more than you thought you would

Stray - Rachel Vincent

When i first was going to start Stray i looked it up on goodreads and it had some really bad reviews, so i didn't read it until about a week later and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nico di Angelo
grim, solitary, powerful and mysterious, highly unpredictable and selectively affectionate

Most mysterious character you’ve ever encountered

The Silent Brothers

We really don't know much about them and they are in all of the shadowhunter books and i would love to know what really goes on in the silent city when no ones watching.

Grover Underwood
cheerful, upbeat and protective satyr who chews on furniture when he gets nervous

Book you won’t read due to warnings against them

Vampire Diaries Nightfall - L J Smith

I have heard that they get worse as you carry on the first four are OK but then they get really bad so i wont be continuing with this series.

Clarisse La Rue
arrogant and hot-tempered, but brave, strong and protective of camp

Most annoying character

George Warleggan

George Warleggan is from the Poldark saga and he is such an annoying little bugger and i really want to punch him, at every turn hes trying to financially hurt Ross and i really hate him for it.

So that is it for this tag

Until Next Time
Happy Reading

  1. Fun tag! I've not seen this one before. I love Abbi Glines' books. I haven't read the Sea Breeze series but love the Rosemary Beach series. (And I've never seen that cover before. A lot different from the US covers!) Totally agree about Ugly Love. Oh, the feels! I just finished reading Wait For You... definitely qualifies as a tragic past. Poor Avery!
