Dash and Lilys Book Of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan. Spoiler Free Review

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares - Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

Synopsis

“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Play list. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favourite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Okay let me start by saying i am in a reading slump and deviated from my TBR to read this book i was waiting to read it in December but ended up reading it in November.

So Dash and Lily's book of dares is a funny, quick, cutesie, fluffy and just darn right adorable read. It is not your normal love story where boy meets girl and they fall in love, its about two lonely teenagers who find something to do from the 21st December to the 31st December. But again there is a romantic aspect to this book, its set in a snowy New York City and two people start having feelings for a person they have never even met.

so on to the Plot
  • Lily's parents go on a holiday to Fiji for their 25th wedding anniversary and leave her in the care of her older brother and his boyfriend.
  • Lily's Brother want lily to be as in love as he is and comes up with the idea for lily to make a notebook with clues and a game and leave it in The Strand Bookshop
  • And we go around New York to places like Madame Tussuad's, Macy's, and a load of other places.

For such a short book it sure packs a punch we meet and fall in love with so many characters and have a load of laughs its just a bundle of fun

Happy Reading
Peyton
