The Rocker Who Hates Me - Terri Ann Browning (19th June) (Kindle)

Liam
From the moment I set eyes on that brown eyed, little Italian rock goddess I knew she was meant for me. But my life was too messed up to give her what she needed. So I pushed her away—right into the arms of my band’s front man—only to regret it the second I saw them together.
The moment they were over I tried to clean up my act and chased after that girl until she was mine.
But like always, I let my demons screw with my head and went looking for my next fix. I knew if she found out I would have to choose between the numbness that the drugs gave me, and the best thing that had ever happened to me.
I chose wrong.

Gabriella

The second that I found out Liam was in a car accident that fateful New Years Eve night, I knew I’d made the worst mistake in not trying to fight for him. For us. I never should have pushed him away, but tried to help him through his battle with addiction. When he woke up in the hospital and saw me standing beside of him, I knew that I had killed the love he had for me and all that was left was hate.
Now, more than a year later, I knew the truth about that crazy night. I knew why he’d pushed me out of his life, and I was going to stop at nothing to get the man who owns me—heart and soul—back.
That is if I can survive the night…

When I'm Gone - Abbi Glines

I had an urge to fix all her problems. Which was stupid. She was doing fine without me. But something about those big eyes…
Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star…
Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?

Eavesdropping on Jane Austen's England - Roy & Leslie Adkins

A cultural snapshot of everyday life in the world of Jane Austen
Jane Austen, arguably the greatest novelist of the English language, wrote brilliantly about the gentry and aristocracy of two centuries ago in her accounts of young women looking for love. Jane Austen’s England explores the customs and culture of the real England of her everyday existence depicted in her classic novels as well as those by Byron, Keats, and Shelley. Drawing upon a rich array of contemporary sources, including many previously unpublished manuscripts, diaries, and personal letters, Roy and Lesley Adkins vividly portray the daily lives of ordinary people, discussing topics as diverse as birth, marriage,  religion, sexual practises, hygiene, highwaymen, and superstitions.
From chores like fetching water to healing with  medicinal leeches, from selling wives in the marketplace to buying smuggled gin, from the hardships faced by young boys and girls in the mines to the familiar sight of corpses swinging on gibbets, Jane Austen’s England offers an authoritative and gripping account that is sometimes humorous, often shocking, but always entertaining.

The Night Circus - Erin Morganstern

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazement. It is called "Le Cirque des Reves," and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway--a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love - a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.
True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus per-formers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before - Jenny Han

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

The Book of Life - Deborah Harkness

After travelling through time in Shadow of Night, the second book in Deborah Harkness's enchanting series, historian and witch Diana Bishop and vampire scientist Matthew Clairmont return to the present to face new crises and old enemies. At Matthew's ancestral home at Sept-Tours, they reunite with the cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches - with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency. In ancestral homes and university laboratories, using ancient knowledge and modern science, from the hills of the Auvergne to the palaces of Venice and beyond, the couple at last learn what the witches discovered so many centuries ago.

Jeremy Poldark - Winston Graham

Cornwall 1790. Ross Poldark faces the darkest hour of his life. Accused of wrecking two ships, he is to stand trial at the Bodmin Assizes.

Despite their stormy married life, Demelza has tried to rally support for her husband. But there are enemies in plenty who would be happy to see Ross convicted, not least George Warleggan, the powerful banker, whose personal rivalry with Ross grows ever more intense.

Warleggan - Winston Graham

Cornwall 1792. Ross plunges into a highly speculative mining venture which threatens not only his family's financial security but also his turbulent marriage to Demelza. When Ross and Elizabeth's old attraction rekindles itself, Demelza retaliates by becoming dangerously involved with a handsome Scottish cavalry officer. With bankruptcy an increasingly real possibility, the Poldarks seem to be facing disaster on all fronts.

The Black Moon - Winston Graham

Cornwall 1794. The birth of a son to Elizabeth and George Warleggan serves only to accentuate the rift between the Poldark and Warleggan families. And when Morwenna Chynoweth, now governess to Elizabeth's eldest son, grows to love Drake Carne, Demelza's brother, the enduring rivalry between George and Ross finds a new focus for bitter enmity and conflict.

The Four Swans - Winston Graham

Cornwall, 1795 -1799: although Ross Poldark, now something of a war hero, seems secure in his hard-won prosperity, a new dilemma faces him in the sudden infatuation of a young naval officer for his wife Demelza. All four women—the four swans—whose lives touch Ross’s face a crisis in these years. For his wife Demelza, his old love Elizabeth, for his friend’s new wife Caroline, and for the unhappy Morwenna Chynoweth, these are times of stress and conflict.

Top 5 Wednesday - Characters You Wish You Could Drown - 24th June 2015

Hello, this week was pretty easy but i had to come up with some pretty petty reason for a couple of them.
Lets Get Started ...

5. America Singer - The Selection Series - Kiera Cass

I liked America, but there were times i just wanted to shake her, or drown her i don't want to give too much away but when she just wont choose and it takes her 3 bloody books.

4. Juliette - Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi

Juliette in the first book is very different from Juliette in the last book. It is in the first book where i would have loved to drown her she just got on my nerves and was all woe me but later in the series she changes so that's why shes not number 1 or 2.

3. Bella Swan - Twilight - Stephenie Meyer

Its in New Moon that Bella annoys me so much i want to drown her, it is not a normal reaction to do what she did when Edward left it was kind of pathetic.

2.  Joffrey Baratheon - A Song of Ice & Fire - George R R Martin

Is it bad that i would probably enjoy drowning him. Do i need a reason to drown him? OK well he is flipping mental.

1. Zoey Redbird - House of Night - P C & Kristin Cast

In the first 4 book she was OK then after that reading from her POV was just so grating, her personality was dull and i just couldn't handle it. i stuck with it and finished the series it was only in the last book where she redeemed herself but all the other times i wanted to kill her myself.

A Court of Thorns & Roses - Sarah J Maas - Spoiler Free

Title - A Court of Thorns & Roses
Series - A Court of Thorns & Roses
Author - Sarah J Maas
My Rating - 5/5
GoodreadsA Court of Thorns & Roses
ISBN - 1408857863 (ISBN13: 9781408857861)
My Copy - Brought from book store
Release Date - 5th May 2015
SynopsisThe breathtaking start to a seductive high-fantasy from New York Times bestselling author of Throne of Glass series.

Feyre’s survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price.

Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre’s presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

A Court of Thorns and Roses was an amazing fantasy novel. It had all the elements that i love action, romance, fairytale re-telling ECT.. . Sarah J Maas knows how to capture a reader and keep them hocked from the very first page till the very end.

Feyre (Pronounced FAY - RAH) is a human who need to provide for her family as no one else can do it, so she hunts in the woods for meat and for things she can sell. When a wolf crosses her path she knows there is a chance its a Fey but she doesn't care, why should she after everything the Fey have done to humans. she is strong, independent and an iron willed female heroine it was a joy to read from her POV.

Tamlin (Pronounced TAM - LIN) is a high Fey who need Feyre to break a curse put upon him by the evil queen. Tamiln is Loyal, kind and different from other high Fey who still believe humans should be slaves.

The story was phenomenal and the world building was outstanding, it really gave me a sense i was right there with them watching it all happen. Reading some of the scenes it was like a movie playing in my head.

I was not a fan of the Love triangle, it didn't feel like a love triangle for me Rhysand (REE - SAND) doesn't really have a chance and that's not a love triangle in my opinion.

The other characters Lucian (LOO - SHIEN) and Alis (ALICE) where very good minor characters they gave the two main some of the best scenes in the book like setting them up with scenes and helping them to see the truth.

I only have one qualm and that was the ending to me the ending was more of a stand alone ending then the first book in a trilogy ending i probably would have just ended it on a bit of a cliffhanger because right now i just feel like i read a stand alone and there is nothing else to come.

Overall this was a fantastic book and if you haven't already you should give it a go.

Summertime Madness Book Tag

This Tag was created by JackEatsLife

So this tag is all about summer and summery books

lets get started ...

Question 1 -  Show a book with a summery cover! i.e Sun, Beach etc.

Since You've Been Gone - Morgan Matson

This book reminds me of Summer because of the lush green grass, the clothing and the ICE CREAM.

Question 2 - Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for your Summer Vacation!

Rosemary Beach - Abbi Glines

I would just lounge around at the country club being served by Jimmy and watching all the drama unfold it would never be dull and think of all the hot men topless on a beach.

Question 3 -  You're about to go on a flight to your Summer Vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight so what novella do you choose?

Double Crossed - Ally Carter

This is a free Novella and it encompasses all of what i love about Ally Carter, it has her two amazing series come together to make amazingness. You have characters from her Gallagher Girls Series and her Heist Society series, and they all come together to fight.

Question 4. You have a case of Summertime Sadness--what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face?

The Statistical Porbability of Love At First Sight - Jennifer E Smith

This book is so fluffy and cute it just got me into the summer mood last year (2014) and i still love this book it is all fluffy cuteness.

Question 5. You're sitting at the beach all alone...which fictional character would be your beach babe?

Dimitri Belikov - Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead

Dimitri Belikov was my first ever "Book Bf" and i mean he has everything braun, brains amazing looks and amazing personality maybe that why he only exists in book form.

Question 6. To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional sidekick do you pick?

Roar - Under The Never Sky - Veronica Rossi

Roar is just one of them all round side kick characters who are just the right amount of funny and serious and they help the main characters a lot and he was one of the parts of this series.

Question  7. Share the Summertime Happiness! Who do you TAG?

Anyone and Everyone .

The Disney Book Tag

so this tag was crated by Katytastic

so lets begin shall we....

1. The Little Mermaid - a character who is out of their element, a “fish out of water”

Allie - Night School -  C J Daugherty

Allie is pretty much just thrown into her life in the Academy and she doesn't think she belongs and is really bad at classes till she finally understands.

2. Cinderella - a character who goes through a major transformation

Sydney Sage - Vampire Academy / Bloodlines - Richelle Mead

If you go back to Blood Promise then Look at her in The Ruby Circle she has probably the most significant transformation that i have ever read.

3. Snow White - a book with an eclectic cast of characters

A Game of Thrones - George R R Martin

Its one of them books that have like 1000 characters and you cant keep up with them all and there are so many different POVs but it makes it unique and so amazing.

4. Sleeping Beauty - a book that put you to sleep

Emma - Jane Austen

I read this last August and it put me in a reading slump that I'm still in. I hate this book so much right now.

5. The Lion King - a character who had something traumatic happen to them in childhood

Harry Potter - J K Rowling

I tried really hard not to choose this one but i couldn't find another one so i had too. Harry had his parents killed in front of him that traumatic.

6. Beauty and the Beast - A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful

The Chronicles of Narnia - C S Lewis

I read this book when i was 19 years old and it just struck me its a story of family, love, strength and friendship its just so amazing i wish i had read it a long time ago.

7. Aladdin - a character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse

Cammie Morgan - Ally Carter

I don't want to say much since its a major part of one book but when Cammie loses her memory and she wishes to get it back is probably not the best idea.

8. Mulan - a character who pretends to be someone or something they are not

Sansa Stark - George R R Martin

Sansa pretends to be Little Fingers Illegitimate daughter Alayne Stone and dyes her hair and travels with him.

9. Toy Story - a book with characters you wish would come to life

Rosemary Beach -  Abbi Glines

i would have fun just sitting back and watching all the drama they go through on a daily bases it would be hilarious.

10. Disney Descendants - your favourite villain or morally ambiguous character

George Wickham - Jane Austen

I didn't want to choose Voldermort or Valentine so i chose a morally ambiguous character instead and going after 15year old girls for there money is very morally wrong. Just saying.

So that's the end of the tag hope you enjoyed

Grey - Book Review Spoiler Free

Title - Grey
Series - Fifty Shades of Grey
Author - E L James
My Rating - 3.5 / 5
GoodreadsGrey
ISBN - 1101946342 (ISBN13: 9781101946343)
My Copy - Brought from Amazon.co.uk
Release Date - 18th June 2015
SynopsisIn Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.
Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.
Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?
This book is intended for mature audiences.

So i brought this book because i was curious as to how E L James would spin it, i love reading books from different perspectives (Trust in me - J Lynn, Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire, Rush Too Far - Abbi Glines ECT...) i have to admit i had very few expectations going into this book. It wasn't bad don't get me wrong but i did find my self skipping a few lines here and there just to make it go quicker.

So lets discuss Christians POV, it was actually enlightening to see his perspective on the events and to see his view's on his lifestyle and also his nightmares. His nightmares were very sad and you could see if someone lived through that then went on to experience what he did with Elena why he would be a bit messed up in the head. I was shocked at how little work he actually did while chasing Ana, and we also got more information on Leila where as before we didn't really have any.

Like i said previously i didn't really enjoy this book there were some parts i literally laughed out loud but there were some parts that i did sort of skim over because i got bored for anyone who loved Fifty Shades i would recommend this book but to people who were a bit iffy on it i would go into it with trepidation and not a lot of expectations. Overall i did enjoy it for the most part and i do recommend you give it a go even if you just sample it to see if you like it it was fascinating and to read from Fifty Shades POV and i wish i could of connected more with this book.

So lets get started

Smiley Face - A book that makes me really happy and smile when i think about it?

It has to Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen for it it encompasses my happiness and when i think about quotes from the book i smile (everybody thinks I'm weird) but who cares I'm a lover of one of the best stories ever told.

Globe - A book that has travelling in it.

I chose Amy and Rogers Epic Detour by Morgan Matson this book   takes place on a road trip and it has pages where things from that road trip have been stuck in like receipts and tickets and its just an amazing feel good book.

Music Score - A book that has Music in it

I chose If I Stay by Gayle Forman because the main female plays Cello and has to use music scores.

Union Flag - A book set in the United Kingdom

Clockwork prince mainly because its set very near to where i grew up in Chiswick.

Heart Eyes - A series i recently fell in love with

The Poldark Saga by Winston Graham, I have so far only read the first two but i love them and i know I'm going to carry on with the series its a twelve book saga and its set in a part that is so British our very own rugged south west (Cornwall)
