Top 5 Wednesday - Settings You Want To See More Of - 29th June 2016

Hello, so this weeks T5W is about the bookish settings you wish to see more of, this was pretty easy for me because i already had a few in my head straight away and then i looked at my shelves and found the others... so lets get started ....

5. Gallagher Girls - Ally Carter

I would love to see them after graduation actually doing what they had been training for and seeing where they are n the world.

4. Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead

I will always want more Rose and Dimitri because they just fascinate me and i would love to read about them dealing with all the revelations that came out in The Ruby Circle.

3. Early Tudor Period - 1485 - 1509

There are so many books on The Tudor Era between 1509 and 1602 but not the earliest during the reign of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York, i have no idea why they fascinate me so much but i would love to read more of their lives

2. Rosemary Beach/Sea Breeze - Abbi Glines

If you haven't read Until The End (the last book in the Sea Breeze series) you wont know what I'm talking about, but if you have you will know what i want because that was pure evil you cannot just leave it there.

1. Hogwarts - J K Rowling

I mean who wouldn't want more Hogwarts even if its a prequel or a sequel everyone would read it.

Up In Flames - Abbi Glines - Spoiler Free Review

Title - Up In Flames
Author - Abbi Glines
Series - Rosemary Beach #14
ISBN - 9781471144714
Genre - New Adult > Romance
My Copy - Purchased
Format - Paperback
The villain of Rosemary Beach finally gets her own happy ending in the long-awaited final novel of the #1 New York Times bestselling new adult romance series by Abbi Glines.
The Rosemary Beach series ends with a bang when the troubled character readers love to hate gets her very own happily ever after in this eagerly anticipated and overwhelmingly requested story. Known for causing problems for everyone in Rosemary Beach, Nan has been growing up lately, and she’s finally taking centre stage—and finding love with the man she least expected.

I have been eagerly anticipating this book i have had it pre ordered since January but then i realised on the 26th that i probably wont get it till like 11 am because that is when our post is delivered so i brought the kindle edition as well and was going to read it at midnight but fell asleep so i woke up really early and devoured this book in a couple of hours. I like most people who have read this series has some serious qualms about this book, well Nan mostly i honestly couldn't see how Glines could write a book that would make me change my opinion on her but she did she isn't my favourite of the women but i don't hate her like i used too.

Nan as a character wasn't much changed from the other times we have seen her, but this time we have her side of the story and how she feels when she knows shes acting like a bitch but cant help it. I am actually really happy about the way she was portrayed because it felt true to her character and it wasn't a huge change to how she has been portrayed before. There were some things she did in this book that were honestly disgusting and she knew it, but on the same hand some thing she did were downright adorable like every single scene with Nate and he wanted her to sleep in his room and she would have to eat the 'spinch' it was just so cute.
The two men i am not going to talk about either of then because you should go in blind, we have met Major before but we honestly don't know much about him and the other guy well you will just have to read about him. I actually didn't like either of them to start with they were both in my opinion Tossers.

Story wise it was a good story one we had a couple of hints to in The Best Goodbye, and there were things i didn't see coming and some really sad things that happen as well i cried so damn hard at that and i will never forgive Glines for that because it was just mean. :( .
It was nice to see more of Rush and Nate because they have sort of been in the background since their books and it was nice with all the cute moments as well as the bridge building moments between Blair and Nan. I will say i was expecting a Dean mention since his book is next and also i was expecting her to talk to Kiro but neither happened, i did feel some scenes were missing but i hope they get cleared up in Deans Novella.

I honestly cannot believe this series is over i started reading it in November 2014 and to me it feels like leaving home, i mean i have re read these books more times than i can count but they make me happy and i will always love them and each time i read them i love them a little bit more.

Feel The Heat - Kate Meader

Title - Feel The Heat
Author - Kate Meader
Series - Hot In The Kitchen #1
ISBN9781455599592
Genre - Adult > Romance
My Copy - Purchased
Format - Kindle
Where You Can Find It - Goodreads- Barnes & Noble - Book Depository - Amazon UK - Amazon US
Photographer Lili DeLuca spends all her time working at her family's Italian restaurant, instead of following her dream of getting an MFA. When famous British chef Jack Kilroy unexpectedly challenges her father to a cook-off, Lili decides she's tired of playing it safe and vows to seduce the tempting Brit. But once a video of her and Jack kissing goes viral and her luscious (if voluptuous) butt starts trending on Twitter, Lili fears she's cooked up a recipe for disaster . . .
Jack Kilroy's celebrity has left him feeling used and used up. While Lili's oh-so-sexy moans when she tastes his delicious creations turn him on, he's even more aroused by how this beautiful, funny woman is unimpressed by his fame. He knows they could be amazing together, if she could only see past his rabid, bitch-fork-wielding fan base. Now as he's about to start a new prime time TV cooking show, can Jack convince Lili to realise her own ambitions-and turn up the heat in his kitchen?

It was a good book, much like her others in hat they are enjoyable but don't have a complex story line, so they are very easy reads.

Character wise, i liked Lili, and the fact that she's curvy, but i hated how much of the story line was dedicated to that and how much hate and cyber bullying she got for being curvy.  Lili was actually a strong female character for this type of book.

Jack was a bit of a twat times, i read too many books that have male characters like this that i think i am getting a little immune to their stupidity, i don't know how i feel about Jack because at times i loved him and at times he annoyed the crap out of me and I'm still on the fence about him.
The rest of the characters were good, and there were so many of them that at times it felt some of them disappeared without any explanation, so that was a bit annoying as well.

The story line, like i said, didn't have much substance but it was a quick enjoyable read. I am currently in a reading slump and books like this make sure i am still reading but it doesn't put me even further in one. It wasn't a terrible story but it also wasn't the best, but it was somewhere in the middle.

Zenith - Sasha Alsberg & Lindsay Cummings

Title - Zenith
Author's - Sasha Alsberg & Lindsay Cummings
Series - The Androma Saga #1
ISBN9781311167606
Genre - YA > Sience Fiction > Fantasy
My Copy - Purchased
Format - Kindle
Where You Can Find It - Goodreads - Barnes & Noble - Amazon UK - Amazon US
Most know her as the Bloody Baroness, the captain of a fearsome glass starship called The Marauder. Androma and her crew strike terror in the hearts of those who cross them amongst the many corners of the Mirabel Galaxy.
When a routine mission goes rogue, the all-female crew is captured by a bounty hunter from Andi’s past and forced into a job that could, quite literally, start a war that will devour worlds.
Meanwhile, on the far side of the galaxy, the ruthless ruler Nor waits in the shadows of the planet Xen Ptera, biding her time. The final pieces are about to fall into place, liberating a plan that will tear Mirabel in two.
As the Marauder hurtles toward the unknown, there is one lesson that proves to be true: No one can be trusted in a galaxy that runs on lies and illusion.

I picked this book up purely because of the authors, i have never read a Lindsay Cummings book but have many good things about them, and Sasha is from Booktube so i was intrigued about this book, i pre ordered it and read it with in an hour and going into it i didn't know much about it, so i went in completely blind and i actually enjoyed it and that has shocked me quite a bit because after the first chapter i was so confused and thought this was just going to be an OK book but as it went on it got better and better.

Character wise, i thought we were going to see more of Valen since he was the first person we met but then we will probably see more of him in the books to come. Dex now there is a story there, he is a character i feel is going to cause a lot of trouble in the books to come. The girls in Andi's crew we don't know much about them but what we do know i love, they are all kick butt, and all awesome in their own way. Androma is such a brilliant heroine, for such a shot book she really made an impact ad i cannot wait to read more from her.

The story was good not one that read often and also it wasn't too much because it wasn't very long. But the story that we did get really set up the rest of the series and you can see where this series is going to go.

Rocking Kin - Terri Anne Browning

Title - Rocking Kin
Author - Terri Anne Browning
Series - The Lucy & Harris Novella Series #3
ISBN9781533555670
Genre - New Adult > Romance
My Copy - Purchased
Format - Kindle
Where You Can Find It - Goodreads - Barnes & Noble - Amazon UK - Amazon US
With one promise her life was changed…
Saying goodbye to my mother also meant saying goodbye to my life in Virginia. After reluctantly making a promise to my mom, I was California bound with the father who I haven’t seen since I was four years old. I was miserable living under the same roof as my step-monster and the two step-bitches from hell. My only saving grace? Lucy Thornton, daughter to Demon’s Wings’ drummer, Jesse Thornton. Without her friendship—and her odd rocker family taking me in as one of their own—I was sure I would have lost my mind after the first week.
A blast from her past…
I never thought I would see Jace St. Charles again. Honestly, after the way he’d broken my heart, I would have been just fine without having to see his face for the rest of my life. With Lucy’s close friendship with Harris Cutter, owner of the hottest new club in SoCal and Jace’s new boss, I was forced to see that damn face often. Forced to see the way every girl seemed to trip over themselves to get close to him.
A second chance?
Being tossed into one situation after another with Jace made it hard to fight the fact that I wasn’t as immune to him as I wanted to be. But, damn it, I was only human and he was hell bent on winning me back.

I loved this one, i didn't think i would at first because of the cliffhanger the last one ended on but we got the answer to that just really far into this book, it was cute, lovable and sad. The main focus was the relationship between Jace and Kin but with all the drama going on with Lucy and Harris was so good. I stayed up till 2:30 am and finished this book.

The characters were good, i have always loved The Rocker series' cast of characters and most of them were in this book. Jace and Kin who were also in the other books in this series and it was good to find out their history that we have been needing. I loved Kin she was such a Kick Ass heroine she didn't take shit from no one. And Jace don't get me wrong i don't agree with his past choices but i love the way he tried to win Kin back and now i cant wait for the series that centres around his band.

The story was good we went back a bit from the first two books and it flowed through those books as well as beyond the last book as well. Jace and Kin's story is one i have been looking forward to, because it was hinted at all throughout the first two books and it was intriguing to me two people being brought back together after being torn apart. Also we have an answer to the cliff hanger of the last book and it was heart breaking and i cannot wait for the next book since i will be a full length book and not a novella. Then we will start on the next series, i don't want to leave this universe and these characters ever. They are so well written and their lives are told so you fell like they are real and that is a brilliant thing for a book to make you feel.

Intimidating TBR Tag

Hello, so i first saw this on Youtube and thought i should do it, and then forgot about it and then i saw it again on The Nameless Book Blog and decided to write it out straight away so lets get started ....

1. A book on your TBR pile that you haven't finished
The Night Circus - Erin Morganstern
I really couldn't get into this book, and i really wanted to because i had so many people recommend it and say it was really good and i just couldn't get into it.

2. A book you just haven't had the time to read for
The Plantagenet's - Dan Jones
I am slowly getting through this book, but it is very time consuming because it deserves full attention and i really cannot give it for that long on one subject.

3. A book you haven't read because it's a sequel
Pretties - Scott Westerfeld
I liked Uglies but i really just didn't want to pick up Pretties.

4. A book you haven't read because it's brand new
A Court of Mist and Fury - Sarah J Maas
This isn't brand new but it came out last month and i just really haven't got around to reading it because i just couldn't get into it.

5. A book by and author you read previously but didn't really like
The Host - Stephenie Meyer
It wasn't that i didn't like the Twilight Saga it was more that now i have read more books i can see how amateurish the writing is and i hate to say that and so it has put me off reading this one.

6. A book on your TBR pile that your just not in the mood to read
Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn
Psychological Thrillers make my head hurt so right now I'm not in the mood to read this but maybe near Halloween i might want to.

7. A book on your TBR pile that you haven't read because it's enormous
Jane Austen's Barnes & Noble Edition
I love Jane Austen but i cannot bring myself to read this book because i feel like it will take the fun out of reading her books.

8. A book on your TBR you bought because of the cover
The Luxe - Anna Godbersen
i brought this for the cover and tried to read it but never really got into it.

9. The book on your TBR you find the most intimidating

Playing With Fire - Kate Meader

Title - Playing With Fire
Author - Kate Meader
Series - Hot In Chicago #2
ISBN9781476785929
Genre - Adult > Romance
My Copy - Purchased
Format - Kindle
Where You Can Find It - Goodreads - Barnes & Noble - Book Depository - Amazon UK - Amazon US
As the only female firefighter at Engine Co. 6, Alexandra Dempsey gets it from all sides: the male coworkers who think she can’t do the job, the wives and girlfriends who see her as a threat to their firefighter men, and her overprotective foster brothers who want to shelter their baby sister at all costs. So when she single-handedly saves the life of Eli Cooper, Chicago’s devastatingly handsome mayor, she assumes the respect she’s longed for will finally come her way. But it seems Mr. Mayor has other ideas…
Eli Cooper’s mayoral ratings are plummeting, his chances at reelection dead in the water. When a sexy, curvaceous firefighter gives him the kiss of life, she does more than bring him back to the land of the living—she also breathes vitality into his campaign. Riding the wave of their feel-good story might prop up Eli’s flagging political fortunes, but the sizzling attraction between them can go nowhere; he’s her boss, and there are rules that must be obeyed. But you know what they say about rules: they’re made to be broken…
I read the first book in this series a couple months ago, and really wanted to read this book but it got put on the back burner for a while and i finally gave in a brought it, and it didn't disappoint it had everything a strong female character, a strong male character and family friendship and a beautiful dog.

Character wise i loved Alex in the first book, and i loved her even more in this book, she was feisty and fiery (no pun intended) she definitely had some character development as well and she grew in her self and her confidence, so i loved her as a lead character and as a background character in the first book.

Eli p****d me off at times he got on my last nerve, you cannot be that misogynistic and still try to get the girl who you have insulted countless times. But again like Alex he grows throughout the book, and in the end you do end up liking him. All of the other characters in this book brought something to it, from Eli's dog to his Ex Wife and all of Alex's brothers, i cannot wait to carry on with this series

This was a story i have read a lot of recently but not the same setting, a firefighter and a female one at that was an odd experience to read from but i actually enjoyed it. It was a fun quick read for me and i enjoyed it a lot, the characters and setting were what made this book for me and i have fallen in love with firefighters and Chicago.

Until Next Time
Happy Reading
