Errin is in dyer need for help, with her father dead her brother Lief presumed dead and her mother cursed she has to turn to a stranger who she has never even seen the face of to help her and her mother escape when The Sleeping Prince awakens and kills King Merek she must make her way through refugee ravaged counties to find a girl who can maybe help her mother, but Errin isn't the only one looking for this girl and they must join together to fight the evil that will consume the country if they don't succeed.

When i first got this book i didn't read anything about it and was shocked to learn it wasn't a direct sequel especially since The Sin Eater's Daughter ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and i was really looking forward to reading about Twylla, Lief and Merek again but after that disappointment i was pleasantly surprised at how much i loved Errin's character and the way she fought to survive against all of the odds she survives and i will admit is a bit too trusting i mean in times where you have The Sleeping Prince roaming the world you wouldn't trust someone who wears a hood and you don't See their face for 3 moons (months).

I would definitely like some clearing up of what happened in the time from the end of The Sin Eaters Daughter and The Sleeping Prince because its a bit confusing to start with but you do sort of put it to the back of your mind and work through it. Character wise i do wish we saw more of the old characters and not just the last 100 pages and even then that's just one of the characters, the new characters i loved Errin she was an awesome characters perspective to read from but Silas i could give or take i wanted him to have a bit more character but for me he was a tad too bland. I did love reading about Lief's childhood and the way he was before he was a solider and i just felt so much sadness for Errin with everything she deals with, especially her mother i personally could never do what she did i really couldn't and to do it with no help at all is the sign of a really strong character.

Overall i loved this book and there has too be another book it ended on such a cliffhanger and if it does have another book i will be pre ordering it because this series is getting better and better it really is if you haven't started this series yet i highly recommend it, it is one of those rare one beautiful inside and out.

Until Next Time
Happy Reading
