Romance Recomendations

Hello, so I haven't been on here for a good long while, but it is currently valentines day as I write this and I looked at my bookshelf and for the first time in a while I felt the urge to blog, I will be posting a post about why I've been M.I.A soon, but for now enjoy this post and I will be sticking to a schedule hopefully that pushes me to read at least one book a week.

πŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“š

So here are my top 5 favourite Romance Books/Authors ….

Abbi Glines

If you've followed me for a while this won't be a surprise, Glines is on my must read list, even when I'm in a reading slump I still manage to read those books.
Her characters never fail to entertain and it's hard not to fall in love with every single one of them.

Where Rainbows End/Love Rosie - Cecelia Ahern

Where Rainbows End is the copy I have but it's now called Love Rosie, and I read it quite a few years ago, but to this day it still sticks in my mind as one of the best love stories I have ever read.

Kat French

I found Kat's books by accident in my supermarket, but now she is one of my favourite romance Authors, her books are so light and funny, they never fail to put me in a good mood.

Bella Andre

I love a good saga, any series that follows a family or different characters in the same circle are always some of my favourites to read and we are literally on the third section of this family and I can't wait for more.

Morgan Matson

This is a YA Author but like Kat French, she manages to make the story light and funny, with a hint of seriousness as well, I love every book by this author but if I had to choose my favourite would have to be The Unexpected Everything.

  • To all the boys I've loved before - Jenny Han

So the Schedule for uploading will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and I really am planning to stick to it this time.

Like a Memory - Abbi Glines Theories

Synopsis

One memory.
One special summer.
The one thing Bliss had lost herself in when the fear and sickness were too much, moments never to be damaged by the harsh reality that followed… until now.

Bliss York didn’t live a normal teenage life. She didn’t go to Friday night football games, walk the halls with her friends every day, go to her prom or even walk to receive her diploma. It had all been taken from her the fall that she was fifteen years old and she was given the diagnosis no one ever wants to hear.

She had leukaemia.

Seven years after spending a summer with a girl who he knew would always be his first love and the one who got away, Nate Finlay returns to Sea Breeze to help his fiancΓ© open her new boutique clothing store. When the new employee walks in Nate is taken back seven years to the girl he thought he’d love forever. The one who never answered his calls or returned his text. The one who shut him out completely with not even a goodbye and broke his heart.

They’ve each become someone different. No longer the young teens with stars in their eyes. But does that matter when your heart still says that’s the one.

Excerpts

Just as I was about to finish chapter two a shadow fell over me. I figured it was Larissa. Looking up I grinned, about to ask if she had herself a hot date. My eyes locked on a familiar face. One that was older, a face I remembered, from two long summers ago. A face a girl would never ever forget. His silver eyes were stunningly breathtaking.
He was sixteen now but his muscular bare chest looked at least eighteen. I really hoped Larissa didn’t see him. Her tiny bikini and D cup boobs would draw his attention real fast.
“Bliss,” he said, remembering my name.
“Nate,” I replied as I sat up. I’d day dreamed about him often since that meeting on the beach when I was thirteen years old.
He smirked like he was impressed. Like he expected me to remember him but wasn’t positive I would.
“I was beginning to wonder if you still lived around here.” He spoke then moved to take a seat beside me. He made it look sexy and cool, just like I remembered from that summer. He wasn’t awkward, didn’t weirdly squat, like most people do in the sand.
“You’ve looked for me?” I asked. My heart doing a happy flutter in my chest. He had actually wanted to find me.
“Of course I did. You’re my favorite memory about this place. Sure as hell ain’t my grandpop’s bar.”
He cursed. Eli never cursed. My brother’s did when my parents weren’t listening, but they didn’t do it in public. When they were out having to work on the farm they would curse for the sake of cursing. The way Nate did it seemed much older. Like he was sure of himself.

The door to Octavia’s swung open and out stepped a tower of boxes. I stopped, because the tower was tipping towards me, and just before it crashed I spoke.
“Careful,” I said, before reaching to steady the body behind the cardboard. “Can you see where you’re going?”
A heard a squeal and then they came down. I moved to help when my eyes locked with a pair I knew all too well. I’d only seen eyes like that once before and they were blue and deep and cool. The long thick dark hair tumbling down past her shoulders was also familiar to me. She was older and her body now curved in all the right places. She had definitely developed since the teenage years. No longer fifteen she’d become a woman.
Bliss York had been my first love. Or so I’d thought back then. Come to find out she’d been my first lust, because I had no idea how to love. Her face could stop traffic and that was without any makeup. She was as natural as I remembered. Nothing fake about her. Her smile had once made everything perfect in my world.
“Oh, I’m sorry. . .” she said, trailing off as her eyes scanned my face. I saw the realization there. She remembered me. Knew who I was. The boy who had given her that first kiss. Told her he would love her forever. Then I left after a summer of what I thought was the beginning of forever. I’d been a bit of a dreamer back then. It was before I realized that women weren’t as soft and pretty on the inside as they were on the outside. My mother was perfect, inside and out, but my little sister Ophelia had a definite evil streak.
“You work here?” I asked before she could say my name. I didn’t want to remember that summer. I had remembered it for far too long. Once I finally got it through my head that Bliss York wasn’t the perfect girl, I’d let myself forget her entirely.
She opened her mouth to speak, then slowly nodded her head.
I knew that Octavia had hired someone to help her get things ready. I just hadn’t been told her name. Not that it mattered. That was seven summer’s back and a part of my past that would stay there.
I picked up a fallen box. “I’m Octavia’s fiancΓ© Nate.”  That should answer her questions and also lead her to believe I didn’t remember. “I’ll get these boxes to the recycle bin.”
I didn’t wait for her to give me her name. I went to work picking up the rest of the fallen boxes. She didn’t move for what felt like several minutes, but was actually just a few fleeting seconds. I was tense. Not sure why. If she told me who she was and asked if I remembered, I could still act as if I’d forgotten. Seven fucking years had passed. We’d been kids then. We weren’t now. I was a different person and I was sure she was too.
“Okay, um. . .thank you,” she said. I wanted to look up and watch her go. To take in the woman she’d become. To see just how much her body had changed. The glimpse I’d allowed myself at first had been impressive and I wanted another. She had been a beauty back then. Now she was gorgeous and I had to fucking work with this beauty for the next two weeks.
     Shit.
This would only happen to me.

Theories....

My biggest theory is that Nate either isn't really engaged and its just a publicity thing for the opening of Octavia's shop or he is being forced into it, but i cannot think of anyone doing that so i am going with the first one and my biggest reasoning is a quote from one of the excerpts above and that is...

" It was before I realised that women weren’t as soft and pretty on the inside as they were on the outside. My mother was perfect, inside and out, but my little sister Ophelia had a definite evil streak."

If he was so in love, wouldn't Octavia be on that list.....

Secondly i think that we are going to either love or hate Octavia, like she will either be the nicest person on  the planet or she will be the Nan of this series.

Bliss is going to end up telling Nate about the illness in an argument or he will find out from a third party.

After Bliss' illness i have a feeling that Cage and the men are going to be even more protective than before and this will lead to a heated confrontation between Nate and Cage

There needs to be a father/son moment in this book between Nate and Rush and we can also add some Dean into that, i am almost a 100% convinced that Dean owns Live Bay, we only really know of one bar in Sea Breeze and what Rocker wouldn't want to own Live Bay where they have live rock acts.

There is going to be more interconnecting with the other children and i cannot wait.

This needs to be a Bliss/Nate HEA because it has promised so much and for people like myself who have been waiting since 2014 for this book and these characters i am more than a little terrified that they wont get a HEA.

This is probably going to be the most emotionally charged book in the entire series because of the topic and the fact that we have literally read them as they were born and then they grew up and it is going to be one hell of an emotional roller coaster and one i am really hoping lives up to the high expectations i have for it.

Most anticipated books of 2017

Hello, and welcome back this is one of my new years resolutions to get back to blogging, so lets stop my waffling and get straight into the list.....

Always and Forever, Lara Jean - Jenny Han
To all the Boys I've loved before #3

I was so excited when i found out about this i loved the first two and they are perfect reads for the summer.

Throne of Glass #6 - Sarah J Maas

I haven't actually read book #5 yet because i have been in a really bad reading slump but this book was always going to be on my most anticipated list.

A Kings Obsession - Alison Weir
Six Tudor Queens #2

I read and loved the first book and considering that the last book managed to make me dislike Anne i really wonder how this book is going to make me feel about her.

The Ship of The Dead - Rick Riordan
Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asguard #3

This was always going to be on the list along with any other book Riordan releases i maybe 22 this year but these books never fail to put a smile on my face.

The Dark Prophecy - Rick Riordan
The Trials of Apollo #2

Read Above ^^^^^^^^^^

Riveted - Jay Crownover
Saints of Denver #3

Last year Jay Crownover became an auto-buy author for me and i cannot wait for this book, i need it in my hands right now.

Henry - Tony Riches
Tudor Saga #3

I have been waiting for this for a while now, i love the way Riches writes i have reviews up of the first two books in this series and i delved deeper into the way he writes so i will not go into it now but i cannot wait for this one.

Forever Geek - Holly Smale
Geek Girl #6

I cannot believe that this wonderful series is ending, i hope it ends the way i want it to and she ends up with the person i want her too because i have dedicated a couple of years to this series now and i just feel so torn i want it now but at the same time i don't want this series to end.

Lord of Shadows - Cassandra Clare
The Dark Artifices #2

This really doesn't need any explanation.

After The Game - Abbi Glines
Field Party #3

I love Abbi Glines, she is my main Auto buy author and this year is going to be so good she has gone back to self publishing apart from this series this series is going to stay with a publishing company but the way this book was set up in the last one i can tell it is going to be one hell of a book.

Like A Memory - Abbi Glines

This has been an anticipated book for me since 2014, when Until the End came out, we finally get a book that being my two favourite series together reading the synopsis and the two excerpts that were released today, i have been crying my eyes out because i have a feeling this is going to be an emotional rollercoaster and i will be doing a post later in the month on my theories about what is going to happen.

Under The Lights - Abbi Glines

Title - Under The Lights
Author - Abbi Glines
Series - The Field Party Series #2
ISBN - 9781471125041
Genre - YA > Contemporary
My Copy - Purchased
Format - Kindle
Where You Can Find It - Goodreads - Waterstones - Barnes & Noble - Indigo - Book Depository - Amazon UK - Amazon US

Willa can’t erase the bad decisions of her past that led her down the path she’s on now. But she can fight for forgiveness from her family. And she can protect herself by refusing to let anyone else get close to her.

High school quarterback and town golden boy Brady used to be the best of friends with Willa—she even had a crush on him when they were kids. But that’s all changed now: her life choices have made her a different person from the girl he used to know.
Gunner used to be friends with Willa and Brady, too. He too is larger than life and a high school football star—not to mention that his family basically owns the town of Lawton. He loves his life, and doesn’t care about anyone except himself. But Willa is the exception—and he understands the girl she’s become in a way no one else can.
As secrets come to light and hearts are broken, these former childhood friends must face the truth about growing up and falling in love…even if it means losing each other forever.
I actually have two copies of this book i ended up buying this book on my kindle and had the physical book on pre order but that came on the Thursday but i read it on my kindle on the Tuesday. Confused yet, so am i. I am glad i brought this on my kindle because it meant i could read it when it came out and i was so looking forward to this book, but it wasn't as good as the first, this one had a lot more family drama and craziness.

The story in Under The Lights is very different from the first this one was more drama related than the first one which was more about healing and loss, I'm not saying this story is worse because of that but i am saying it doesn't hold up for me emotionally where the first book hit me so hard this was a lot like other YA Contemporaries.
The story flowed well, and it was an extremely enjoyable read one that i devoured in one sitting. I also hope we have seen something for the future because i am 100% sure Riley is going to have a book and hopefully its the next book because i just cant wait to hear her story.

This was a little bit of a love triangle and i have really gone off those, but the characters in the Love triangle Willa, Brady, and Gunner and then we also have Nanna and all of the supporting characters who bring so much be it bad or good every character brought something to the book and that is one thing i love about Glines' books the characters always make the book 10 times better.

I cant wait for the next book, i am guessing it will be out next August since so far both books have been released in August of successive years. and i really hope its about Riley and someone that i cant say because it will spoil the book, but i think that one will definitely go back to the emotional stuff.
