Hi so this is the Tis The Season tag which was created by Richard Reads

So lets get started...

1. Do you have a favourite winter read?

No I didn't have any Christmas themed book till this year

2. Find a book with blue on the cover!

Christmas Cookie Club - Ann Pearlman

3. Find a book you’d use as the star on a Christmas tree!

Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen (Michael O'Mara Edition)

4. Pick one fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation!

Pemberley, i mean think about it all them grounds covered in a layer of snow, sitting by the open fire. It would have an amazing atmosphere.

5. Pick one fictional character you’d take with you on your winter vacation!

Elizabeth Bennet, i mean she would be just in love with the place as i would be.

6. Name one book on your wish list this year!

The Evolution of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin

7. Favourite holiday drink, treat, & movie?

A) Warm Milk, i don't like hot chocolate or coffee. So i pretty much just drink tea all year round but in the winter i love to have warm milk sweetened with sugar.

B) Cinnamon Rolls for Breakfast on Christmas morning is my favourite.

C) Its a Wonderful Life
I love the black and white version of this, I'm not so keen on the coloured version probably because i believe that it was made Black and White so it should stay that way .

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year

Top 5 Wednesday - Worst Titles - 24th December 2014

Hi,
So this months topics have been pretty dificult for me to choose the books for them and this was no differant, the some were straight on this list then there were some i debated on.

so lets get started. .. ..

5)

Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead

Now dont get me wrong i love this book and all the other titles are good but this book it makes it sound like just another Vampire novel and its so much more than that.

4)

The Kings Curse - Philippa Gregory

Now this is a really petty reason for not liking a title, and that it that it was changed and i like the other one better, This book was origianly called The Last Roseand that title went with the rest of the seires where as this title kind of sticks out.

3)

Twilight - Stephenie Meyer

i hate when book titles have nothing to do with the book and this is a prime example, yes its about Vampire and they only come out at night but these ones dont so it doesnt make any sense.

2)

Strange Angels - Lili St Crow

From the title you would think its a series about Angels but its not its about a girl who finds out she is half human half vampire, the other books in the series are fine they go with the series i have no clue what Strange Angels has to do with this book.

1)

Are these my Basoomas i see before me - Louise Rennison

really any title in this series makes me cringe to say aloud they are just really werid it makes me awkward when i have to talk about them so i dont and it kind of puts me off reading them in public.

Have a Wonderful Christmas

Classic Christmas Cinema Tag

Hi,
so it is less than a week till Christmas so i figured i should start the Christmas tags i was meant to do last week but didn't get around to so lets get started ...

Questions:

1. Elf- choose a book that puts you in the Christmas mood

My True Love Gave to Me is the first real Christmas book i own and i got it this year so its gonna have to be.
My True Love Gave To Me - Stephanie Perkins

2. It's a Wonderful Life- choose a book with a character who goes through some serious character development

In the Indigo Spell, Sydney Sage goes through some major character development throughout some of Vampire Academy and The Bloodlines book previous to TIS you see her character change so much its astonishing.

3. Christmas Carol- choose a book/series with a character you didn't like at first, but grew to love

Warner from Shatter Me, i think anybody who read Shatter Me not knowing anything about the characters and how they develop has to hate Warner hes the evil baddie in the first book but in the next two and mainly the novella you see what his real character is and how caring and loving he really is.

4. Home Alone- choose a book where the parents aren't present and if they are, they aren't such a good influence

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares Lily's parents are on their honeymoon they never got to have the first time round and Dashes parents are both doing there own thing thinking he is with the other when really hes at home by himself.

5. Frosty the Snowman- Find a book with a snowy cover.

Christmas Cookie Club - Ann Pearlman

6. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer- Choose a protagonist you couldn't help but root for.

Percy Jackson, hes just so lovable from the first book when hes 12 until the last book we see him in when hes 16 he never changed from the adorable pre teen to grown up man.

7. Polar Express- Find a book where characters travel somewhere cold.

Blood Promise - Richelle Mead Rose Hathaway travels to Russia

8. How the Grinch Stole Christmas- Choose a villain you couldn't help but love.

I guess mine would be George Wickham from Pride & Prejudice because he is the epitome of evil in that era he keeps trying to marry 15 year old girls, hes a lying manipulative, gambler with a massive amount of debt (and i could think of any others that i liked)

9. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation- Choose a character with a goofy sense of humour.

Kenji - Shatter Me
My Favourite Quote from his is from Ignite me
"Hey- Jazz Hands!" Kenji barks. "get your ass back over here." He makes it a point to look as irritated as possible."Back to work. And this time, focus. You're not and ape. Don't just throw your shit everywhere"

 10. Lifetime/Hallmark movie- Choose a book with the cheesiest romance.

Anna and The French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins

This book is such a cheesy romantic book in the most romantic city in the world come on this book wins hands down.

Until next time lovelies

Top 5 Wednesday - Historical - 17th December 2014

Hi,
So i am kind of in my element here i love Historical books i am a history geek, so this was so fun for me to chose my top 5,

Lets Get Started

In no particular order ...

5)
 The Diviners - Libba Bray

The Diviners is set in New York in the 1920's and revolves around a girl who moves from Ohio to live with her Uncle in New York City, the history aspect is so much fun for me because i don't know much about American history and the culture so it was a lot of fun to read about.

4)
 Stormbird - Conn Iggulden

Stormbird is book one in the Wars Of the Roses series and takes place in England in the 1400's where King Henry VI rules over England, but being King is never an easy job when your own cousin tries to push you out of power and claim the crown for himself. England's history is a violent, bloody battlefield of murder, treachery, and greed. A MUST READ.

 3)
The White Queen - Philippa Gregory

The White Queen takes place in the same time period as Stormbird but where Stormbird is told from Male POV The White Queen is told from female POV so its fun to get both sides but i will say Philippa Gregory's writing is more fictional than truth.

2)
The Confession's of Katherine Howard - Suzannah Dunn

This book follows two girls both named Katherine, The two girls are best of friends and live with there governess, but when Katherine Howard the more outgoing of the girls becomes Henry VIII 5th wife they must keep the secrets of the sins that they delved into while just mere girls.

1)
Anne Frank Diary of A Young Girl - Anne Frank

This book is obviously not fiction, its a heart wrenching story of family and Friend who in a time of fear and war come together to protect each other, i think even if you don't like historical books, you should read this because it give you an understanding of how life was just  74 years ago.

Well until next time

Top 5 Wednesday - Re-Reads - 10th December 2014

Hi,
So i didn't do T5W last week because i had some thing i needed too do and didn't get round to it but I'm back this week and this week was kind of difficult for me i only really started re-reading books this year so most of them are from the same series but i managed to get 5 that were from all different series so lets get started ...

5)

United We Spy - Ally Carter

I love Re-Reading this book but mainly the ending to this book ( if you have read this book its Liz's graduation speech) and it just makes me smile and there are so many OH S**T moments

4)

City of Bones - Cassandra Clare

I hated this book when i first read it i thought it was stupid and over rated but then this year before CoHF came out i re-read it and i completely fell in love with it i don't know why all of a sudden my view was changed but I'm very glad i re-read this book

3)

Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone - J K Rowling

I have only read this book twice as i didn't read this book until 2011 and i loved it but back then i wasn't really into re-reading books i just wanted to read all the new books i was getting my hands on but last year (2013) i read it again and remembered why i fell in love with this world so much, and will be re reading this book again and again.

2)

Vampire Academy  - Richelle Mead

I first read Vampire Academy in August of 2010 and fell in love with a world that has stayed with me over 4 years on, i have re-read this book to many times to count it hold so many great memories for me that all come rushing back when i pick this book up.

1)

Eclipse - Stephenie Meyer

Eclipse was the first ever book i re-read as i have said before i didn't read Twilight and New moon because i had just seen the films and was ignorant to how different they are so i just jumped in and read eclipse so that was the start off my book obsession all the way back in November 2009 i read this book for the first time and i think i re read it around June of 2010 and i still love that book it like Vampire Academy hold many memories that come rushing back when i pick it up.

Happy Reading

Peyton
