On My Shelf Tag

Hi, so the On My Shelf tag, is a tag where you pick random numbers and find the book that coordinates with said number i have 4 shelves so i have 3 coordinates fist is the bookcase then the shelf then the book
Example

2-1-1
Strange Angels - Lili St Crow

So lets get started ...

1)

2--3--15

The Kingmakers Daughter - Philippa Gregory

i first brought this book after visiting The Tower Of London in 2013 and i was just getting some food shopping and wondered into the book aisle and found this book and The Host in the 2 for 7 pounds.

2)
3--2--6

Midnight Alley - Rachel Caine

Book three in The Morganville Vampires series

3)
1--5--10

Tithe - Holly Black

i got this book on the 20th of July 2013 i went to Stamford Bridge Stadium tour which was a father day gift for my dad, and then we went on to Piccadilly where i brought 12 books that day.

The Reckoning - Kelley Armstrong

Book 3 in the Darkest Powers Trilogy is probably the best in the trilogy from what i can remember i read it about 4 years ago so its been a while.

7)

1--2--11

Bleeding Hearts - Alyxandra Harvey

Book 4 in The Drake Chronicles which follows Conner and Christabel, i don't want to say much since it is the 4th book but it is probably my 3rd favourite.

8)

2--1--6

The Boy In The Smoke - Maureen Johnson

The boy in the smoke is a prequel which was released for World Book Day 2014 and was 1 pound  so i thought why not if you don't know the series just pick up this novella and try it and see if you like it

Dash and Lilys Book Of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan. Spoiler Free Review

Dash and Lily's Book of Dares - Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

Synopsis

“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Play list. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favourite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Okay let me start by saying i am in a reading slump and deviated from my TBR to read this book i was waiting to read it in December but ended up reading it in November.

So Dash and Lily's book of dares is a funny, quick, cutesie, fluffy and just darn right adorable read. It is not your normal love story where boy meets girl and they fall in love, its about two lonely teenagers who find something to do from the 21st December to the 31st December. But again there is a romantic aspect to this book, its set in a snowy New York City and two people start having feelings for a person they have never even met.

so on to the Plot
  • Lily's parents go on a holiday to Fiji for their 25th wedding anniversary and leave her in the care of her older brother and his boyfriend.
  • Lily's Brother want lily to be as in love as he is and comes up with the idea for lily to make a notebook with clues and a game and leave it in The Strand Bookshop
  • And we go around New York to places like Madame Tussuad's, Macy's, and a load of other places.

For such a short book it sure packs a punch we meet and fall in love with so many characters and have a load of laughs its just a bundle of fun

Happy Reading

Top 5 Wednesday - 12 November 2014 - Couples

Hello,

Yep its Wednesday again so the means its T5W day. Today it is top 5 couples this was very difficult for me i could have chosen one from every book i have read but these are at the top of my list but will probably change by the end of the year, so lets get started

At number 5 it is ...

Clary Frey and Jace Herondale (Wayland, Lightwood, Morganstern, any of the above) (Mortal Instrument's - Cassandra Clare)

Ship name - Clace

I don't know why i love them but i was close i was going between them and Tessa and Will but in the end i chose Clary and Jace because i got to know them better that's my problem with trilogy's i just start understanding a character then the trilogy ends. Back on to subject i don't know how to explain it so I'm just gonna say i love the way there relationship unfolds in all the books because its too difficult to explain and i cannot seem to find the words.

Then at number 4 its

Avery Morganstern and Cam Hamilton (Wait For You - Jennifer L Armentrout)

Ship Name - ???????

This time i can explain myself better Cam is an amazing person he loves his family and he BAKES cookies. Avery is the opposite she has major family issues and she has every right to be angry at them, but Cam just brings this shy introverted girl out of her secluded shell, its an amazing relationship that is beautiful to read about.

Coming in at number 3 is

Cammie Morgan and Zach Goode  (Gallagher Girls - Ally Carter)

Ship Name - Zammie

when we meet Zach in the second book he is a cocky, arrogant, and steals Cammie's heart, and then when he keeps appearing in the third book we get suspicious and then we find out his mother is part of a terrorist organisation and is after Cammie. But Zach's chosen the good guys and the hurdles they have to get over are more than most couples could take. I love that separate they are strong but together they are stronger.

at number 2 it is...

Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcey (Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen)

Ship Name - Dizzie

i really shouldn't need to explain my love for these two characters so I'm not but Lizzie and Darcy are two iconic characters that make me smile when i think about them and there relationship and it drives home that there is a very thin line between love and hate.

And finally at number 1, my all time favourite couple that will probably never change is

Rose Hathaway  and Dimitri Belikov (Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead)

Ship Name - Romitri

Rose and Dimitri are the first couple i ever shipped so they are in my heart forever, their relationship is turbulent at times and it doesn't really get going until the end of book one then in book two nothing really happens, but book three gets explosive so if you want to read this series make sure to push past the first two books they get so much better as they go along. Rose and Dimitri are the epitome of soul mates and that is why they are my favourites.

Well until next Wednesday beautiful people

TMI vs TID Tag

Hiya , so TMI and TID are two of my favourite series and its difficult to choose so i decided to do this tag to see which i prefer.

So lets get started ...

1. Favourite main character: Clary or Tessa?

hmmmm this is a tough one they are both strong female characters thrown into a world they knew nothing about but I'm going to choose Clary mainly because there were times that Tessa annoyed me and don't get me wrong Clary annoyed me just as much but i feel i got to know Clary more than i did Tessa.

2. Favourite Herondale: Jace or Will?

There is no competition Will Herondale is just Perfection and he WILL HERONDALE.

3. Favourite love triangle: Simon/Clary/Jace or Will/Tessa/Jem?

In all honesty i don't think Simon/Clary/Jace was really a love Triangle because Simon never stood a chance. So I'm choosing Jem/Tessa/Will because it is a beautiful relationship where they all love each other.

4. Better Villain: Sebastian or the Magister?

Well Sebastian is a good villain but come on The Magister planned his evil plot for like 30 years i mean if that's not commitment then i don't know what is.

5. Better army: The Dark Army or The Clockwork Army?

The Dark Army by a country mile because what better way to have a war than to use the good guys family members and turn them dark.

6. Better First Book: City of Bones or Clockwork Angel?

The first time i read these series i hated City of Bones and loved Clockwork Angel, but when i re-read these books this year. My opinion did a complete 180 and now City of Bones is my favourite of the two

7. Better Female Sidekick: Isabelle Lightwood or Cecily Herondale?

Kind of an easy one Isabelle Lightwood all the way shes a bad ass fighter but then again who does she get it off but her Great-Great-Great Grandmother.

8. Better Setting: The New York Institute or The London Institute?

Well this is another easy one for me I'm from London and wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world.
The institute is in the same place as St Bride's Church and has a similar spire

9. Better Last Book: City of Heavenly Fire or Clockwork Princess?

City of Heavenly Fire is one of my favourite books of the year and i flew through i read it in about 12 hours straight, and Clockwork Princess i read about half the book and just couldn't finish it till the next month. So for sheer content I'm choosing CoHF

10. Better Final Epilogue: City of Heavenly Fire or Clockwork Princess?

Clockwork Princess Epilogue had me in tears it was the most beautiful way to wrap up a series and there are times when i still re read it.

Well no one won because they got 5 each.
So that's the TMI vs TID Tag hope you enjoyed
Until next time Mundanes

In this gripping tale of crime and guilt, revenge and reward, the compelling characters include Magwitch, the fearful and fearsome convict; Estella, whose beauty is excelled only by her haughtiness; and the embittered Miss Havisham, an eccentric jilted bride

A Breath Of Frost - Alyxandra Harvey (Book #1 In The Lovegrove Legacy)

In 1814, three cousins—Gretchen, Emma, and Penelope—discover their family lineage of witchcraft when a binding spell is broken, allowing their individual magical powers to manifest. Now, beyond the manicured gardens and ballrooms of Regency London, an alluring underworld available only to those with power is revealed to the cousins. By claiming their power, the three cousins have accidentally opened the gates to the underworld.

Now ghouls, hellhounds—and most terrifying of all, the spirits of dark witches known as the Greymalkin Sisters—are hunting and killing young debutante witches for their powers. And, somehow, Emma is connected to the murders…because she keeps finding the bodies.

Can the cousins seal the gates before another witch is killed…or even worse, before their new gifts are
 stripped away?

Synopsis

Pretty girls in pretty dresses, partying until dawn. Irresistible boys with mischievous smiles and dangerous intentions. White lies, dark secrets, and scandalous hookups. This is Manhattan, 1899. Beautiful sisters Elizabeth and Diana Holland rule Manhattan's social scene. Or so it appears. When the girls discover their status among New York City's elite is far from secure, suddenly everyone--from the backstabbing socialite Penelope Hayes, to the debonair bachelor Henry Schoonmaker, to the spiteful maid Lina Broud--threatens Elizabeth's and Diana's golden future. With the fate of the Hollands resting on her shoulders, Elizabeth must choose between family duty and true love. But when her carriage overturns near the East River, the girl whose glittering life lit up the city's gossip pages is swallowed by the rough current. As all of New York grieves, some begin to wonder whether life at the top proved too much for this ethereal beauty, or if, perhaps, someone wanted to see Manhattan's most celebrated daughter disappear... In a world of luxury and deception, where appearance matters above everything and breaking the social code means running the risk of being ostracised forever, five teenagers lead dangerously scandalous lives. This thrilling trip to the age of innocence is anything but innocent.

Prince Of Shadows - Rachel Caine

Synopsis

In the Houses of Montague and Capulet, there is only one goal: power. The boys are born to fight and die for Honor and—if they survive—marry for influence and money, not love. The girls are assets, to be spent wisely. Their wishes are of no import. Their fates are written on the day they are born.

Benvolio Montague, cousin to Romeo, knows all this. He expects to die for his cousin, for his house, but a spark of rebellion still lives inside him. At night, he is the Prince of Shadows, the greatest thief in Verona—and he risks all as he steals from House Capulet. In doing so, he sets eyes on convent-bound Rosaline, and a terrible curse begins that will claim the lives of many in Verona…

…And will rewrite all their fates, forever.

I love this shade of red and the simplicity of this cover it it looks just like a diary. And i love the font as well.

Then at number 4 its

Lament - Maggie Steifvater

Again i love this shade of red but the cover design is phenomenal and i love Red and black together i always have.

At number 3 its

Dreamless - Josephine Angelini

All the covers in this series are pretty much the same but this is the red one i love this cover for the background the red clouds and the lightning going through them.

Hi, so this month i read 21 books and here they are ....

so first i had about 100 pgs left of ...

Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare (Book #3 in the Infernal Devices trilogy) (?-09-14 -- 01-10-14)

(re-read)

Clockwork Princess is the third and final book in the Infernal devices series, which is the pre-qual to the mortal instruments series. This book is probably my favourite in the trilogy mainly because of the epilogue and the way everything is wrapped up.
so i give it

Only the good spy young - Ally Carter (book #4 in The Gallagher Girls Series) (01-10-14 -- 01-10-14) (Re-Read)

Only the good spy young for me began in my favourite place in the world on Tower Bridge, in London. this series for me is so easy to read it just makes me feel all happy inside. this book is the start of the action that explode in the last two.
so i gave this book

Blood Moon - Alyxandra Harvey (book #5 in The Drake Chronicles) (02-10-14 -- 02-10-14) ( Re-Read)

So again this book is the book that set everything up for the final book. so this book is fast paced and doesn't just follow one Drake brother and there love interest this is where everything that's been building up over the past four books
therefore i give this book a solid ..

Born Wicked - Jessica Spotswood (book #1 in The Cahill Witch Chronicles) (02-10-14 -- 03-10-14)

I am not a witch fan i never really have been, but since its October i decided to try to read some. and i have to admit that was the best decision i made because i loved this book it was fun and fast and just amazing. So Born Wicked is about Cate a witch who takes care of her two younger sisters after her mum died and her dad is always at work. in a Town where Witch's are punished and of course there is romantic aspects, at the start of the book she is waiting for a proposal from the boy next door Paul, who has been in New London, but then there is the boy who her father has hired as the gardener Finn. she has to choose between protecting her sisters, even if it means giving up her true love.
As i said before i loved this book i give it a massive

Haunting Violet - Alyxandra Harvey (03-10-14 -- 04-10-14)

Haunting Violet is about a young girl named Violet Willoughby who has spent years being her mothers faked seances, which has brought them a life of luxury. But the last thing Violet expected was to start seeing and hearing the dead for real. But now she must help a girl who was murdered and wont rest till her murderer is uncovered. and Violet must use her talents to find out who it is before the killer strikes again. This book was entertaining a bit slow in parts but nether the less it was good I'm a massive fan of Alyxandra Harvey's writing so i had high expectations for this book and they just about met them it was good but could have been better.
so i give this book

The Maze Runner - James Dashner (book #1 in The Maze Runner Trilogy) (04-10-14 -- 05-10-14)

I read this book because the movie came out on the 10th of this month in the UK. not expecting to enjoy it
as i have tried it before. But saying that i was on a comtempery kick and wasn't in the mood for dystopian books, so i gave i another go and i am glad i did it was amazing, fast paced, amazing characters , amazing world building, i could go on and on but I'm not just go rad it.
i give this book a

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin (book #1 of The Mara Dyer Trilogy) (05-10-14 -- 06-10-14)

Going into this book i knew nothing about it apart from the Narrator being untrustworthy, and my god I'm so
glad i didn't know anything because it was a roller coaster of emotions and feels and shivers at some points. but i now have a new book boyfriend to dd to my very very long list and that is Noah Shaw i loved him from the beginning and he made the book just perfect and added another layer of mystery to it and i cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
i give this book

Stay With Me -J Lynn (book #3 in The Wait For You Series) (07-10-14 -- 07-10-14)

Stay with me is the third instalment in the Wait for you companion series this particular book follows Calla
who we meet in Be With Me (book 2) and Jax. When Callas mum drains her bank account she goes to her hometown to find her money only to find her mothers gone AWOL. And the new bartender at her mums bar.keeps hitting on her and so much other stuff goes down but i don't want to give away the plot. this book and series is a brilliant New Adult series and you should go read it.
I give this book

The Blood Of Olympus - Rick Riordan (Book #5 in The Heroes of Olympus Series) (07-10-14 -- 09-10-14)

I am not going to go into detail about this book i have a full SPOILER review to see it click HERE
I give this book ...

The Queen's Fool - Philippa Gregory (Book #4 In The Tudor Court Series) (09-10-14 -- 16-10-14)

The Queens fool is about a girl named Hannah Green, a booksellers daughter with a gift to read more than
his banned book. Wrapped up in hansom traitor Robert Dudley's scemes, she is sent to spy on Princess Mary, then sent by Mary to spy on Princess Elizabeth. Caught in a deadly rivalry between the two daughters of Henry VIII, torn between her infatuation with Robert Dudley and her duty to her family. Hannah must find a way to survive when the wrong religion is a death sentence, science and magic are one, and true love is a fatal weakness. I have many mixed feelings about this book it is my least favourite in the series, but then there were some parts i loved it was unique in the portrays of Elizabeth and Mary because normally Elizabeth is the good one and Mary the bad but this was the other way around, and that was intresting to read.
so i give this book

The First Fifteen Lives Of Harry August - Claire North (17-10-14 -- 23-10-14)

The first fifteen lives of Harry August is a book about a man who has many when he dies and is reborn his
life plays out the same way each time. I got this book on recommendation from a guy who worked in my local bookstore and i did enjoy it there where bits where i got lost and couldn't figure out what had happened and some bits where a bit slow but it was good in the end. It is not really a book you go into knowing what is going to happen so i will leave it there but on the first page i was hooked by this tiny paragraph

I am writing this for you.
                                    My enemy
My friend.
You know, already, you must know.
You have lost.
I give this book

Redeemed - P.c & Kristin Cast ( Book #12 in The House of Night Series) (23-10-14 -- 24-10-14)

Me and The House of Night series have a love hate relationship in the beginning (The first 4 books) i loved
this series then it got really stupid, but i perceived and I'm glad i did because this book (excuse the pun) redeemed its self in my eyes it was an amazing book i thought it would just drag on like the last couple of books
so i give this book

Breathe - Abbi Glines ( Book #1 in The Sea Breeze Series) (26-10-14 -- 27-10-14)

The sea breeze series follows a group of friend and there relationships this book is about Sadie White who
has to be a parent for her mother who acts like a spoiled teenager when her mother gets pregnant, Sadie must take over her mums job as a maid. But the man who owns the house is none other that teenage heartthrob Jax Stone and he fall head over heels for this southern belle.
New adult books are defiantly my guilty pleasure i seem to fly through them, and this book was no different i was a bit apprehensive going into this book having read the synopsis many of times but it was very enjoyable and i couldn't wait to continue on
I give this book

Because of Low - Abbi Glines (Book#2 in The Sea Breeze Series) (27-10-14 --27-10-14)

Because of Low follows Marcus who has had to move back to sea breeze because his dad has been causing
a scandal he moves in with a friends friend Cage who is a man whore but there is a beautiful red head in his bed and her name is Willow but Low for short she doesn't trust anyone because they always leave her can Marcus break down her walls and with family problems on boths side they are more alike than they care to admit.
This book like the first was amazing, but this time the main character was more relatable to me and i enjoyed reading her POV
so I'm giving this book

While It Lasts - Abbi Glines (Book #3 in The Sea Breeze Series) (27-10-14 -- 27-10-14)

While it lasts follows Cage who is being sent on a farm to do community service after a DUI, on this farm he
meets the farmers daughter Eva whose fiance was killed 18 months before.
I have mixed emotions about this book on the one hand it was amazing and the characters were fun and lovable but on the other hand I wanted to shake Eva and scream at her because she was frustrating at times.
I give this book

Just for now - Abbi Glines (Book #4 in The Sea Breeze Series) (27-10-14 -- 28-10-14)

Just for now follows Preston and Amanda  who are Marcus's best friend and sister, but Preston has a secret
one that could ruin everything, not to mention Marcus's reaction to his man whore best mate and his baby sister.
again like the other books in this series i immensely enjoyed this book but like the others there were some flaws with it but it made me smile and stay up till 2am to finish it.
I'm going to give this book

Sometimes It Lasts - Abbi Glines (Book #5 in The Sea Breeze Series) (30-10-14 -- 30-10-14)

This book follows Cage and Eva who we met in WHILE IT LASTS, i got pretty frustrated with this book i cant say much about this book it would spoil While It Lasts. But saying that i still loved this book the same as the others
so I'm going to give this one

Misbehaving - Abbi Glines (Book #6 in The Sea Breeze Series) (30-10-14 -- 30-10-14)

Misbehaving follows Jason Stone (Jax Stones brother) and Jess (Rocks Cousin) this book had some pretty emotional at times and also brilliantly funny in parts also. The only problem i had with this book was Jason acted like a idiot at times and was hard to read but again
i give this book

Bad For You - Abbi Glines (Book #7 in The Sea Breeze Series) (30-10-14 -- 30-10-14)

Bad for you centres around Krit .(Trisha Brother) and Blythe a new girl in town who was raised by the pastor and his wife after her mother died in childbirth. I did love Blythe's character and i hated Krit in all the other books he just seemed like a man whore who didn't care about anyone except his sister. But Blythe brought out a side in him that was amazing and beautiful this was probably one of my favourites in the series.
So i give this book

Hold On Tight - Abbi Glines (Book #8 in The Sea Breeze Series) (30-10-14 -- 30-10-14)

Hold on tight follows Dewayne and Sienna, who had known each other since they were kids. Sienna was dating Dewayne's younger brother Dustin. Dustin dies in a car crash and Sienna moves to Texas, but six years later shes back but this time with her son. Dewayne has always been protective of Sienna and has always loved her can he convince her to give him a chance.
This book was pretty much perfect so i give this book

Until The End - Abbi Glines (Book #9 in The Sea Breeze Series) (30-10-14 -- 31-10-14)

Until the end follows Trisha and Rock in high school and in the present day, we also get extra epilogue's from all the other books i loved all of them except for Sadie and Jaxs (Breathe). That one really annoyed me and the other thing that really bothered me was Trisha and Rocks story just ended kind of like Requiem in the delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver just ended but you feel there should be another page it just sort of ended and then went into the epilogue
but all in all it was still amazing and I'm giving this book

Happy Reading
